This was taken last winter 2013. The red ribbon was already on the tree. I just had to take a picture with our dog Mollie. Sitting by it. Light Room was used for a to adjust the exposure and contrast.Attachment 220300 |

A simple one I use is a tissue and a rubber band to make my flash more diffused in output :)

My K-5 follows me were ever I go. Some days it maybe 5-15 minutes for reference pictures when fixing something.
Other days it maybe 2-4 hours taking pictures of a live show and sometimes a all day walk about.
Guess it depends on the situation.

I started to use watermarking a very simple one so that when people share on places like Face Book etc.
So when people look at the picture they at least know who took the picture..
The pictures I post there and here I do not mind if there shared but give me credit some did not so I use water marks just to get my name out.
this picture was taken with a K-5 and a Vivitar series one 135mm lens. |

Hi there I am Peterborough Ontario Canada.
Just got here.
I have a Pentax K-5 and very happy with it.
Waited a long time to get a Pentax DSLR. But while I waited for Pentax to come out with there DSLR. Canon and Nikon came out first.
So I ended up with a Canon G-3 still got it and still use it
But I waited. When Pentax finally came out with the *ist D. Problem I could not afford it at the time. :(
But still held off the when the time was right I was able to get the K-5 :)
Here is were I find the Ironic twist the 35mm film cameras I have are Ricoh models KR-1 and KR-2s. They used the Pentax K mount.
The lenses are a mix range of 18mm to 400mm zoom and prime from Ricoh, Pentax, Vivitar, Soligor and a set of extension tubes. A old Sunpak Autozoom 3000.
All my old Camera gear lives again :) A K-5 with a Ricoh lens ;)
Just in case your wondering I also use a Gossen LunasixF light meter from time to time to measure light hitting the subject ;)
For the most part I have my K-5 in manual mode due to the lenses I have.
Hope you enjoyed my story
P.S. want to get a K-3 next :D
