I have decided to take the k50 Just need to decide between the 18-55 + 55-200 and the 18-135 kit..

I have also read about the loud shutter sound for the k50.. how loud is compared to other dslr.. or is it just loud compared to silent shutter in the k5 ?

wow . thanks for the replies guys.. i am thinking more and more with every reply :)
from what I can understand.. K50 and K5ii are essentially the same ..
with K5ii having slightly better focussing , an extra lcd display on top, a better battery..
but the k50 has focus peaking, its cheaper, its kind of newbie friendly...
I might go for the k50 with 18-55 and 55-200 since it gives me more range.. and i might buy more prime lenses as I go on.. and probably migrate to the k5 iii or a k3 successor as time comes :)

Is #2 all purpose because of the lens ? or k50 is a more versatile camera compared to k5ii ..
Thanks for pointing to that site.. the 15-135 fared quite bad in their tests ..
Agreed :) so its important to get a better body and bad lens :P

on a different note.. a friend has pointed me to a offer showing the D7100 + 18-105mm for 800 GBP .. just makes my decision tougher i guess :(

Hello all,..
I have decided to get a new pentax dslr (this will be first dslr)..
I do release the quality on k5iis is slightly better in terms of low light focus and dynamic range than the k50
I have four options infront of me and unable to make up my mind...
Pentax K-50 White + DAL 18-55WR + DAL 50-200WR Twin Lens Kit : 659 GBP
Pentax K-50 White + DA 18-135WR : 739 GBP
PENTAX K5 II DIGITAL CAMERA WITH 18-55MM WR LENS: 679.00 GBP
PENTAX K5 II S DIGITAL CAMERA WITH 18-55MM WR LENS : 799.00
My max budget is around 700 but willing to go to extra 100 quid just to get the extra performance if needed..
I probably wont be able to invest anything else into this for atleast 6-9 months so confused if going down the kit lens route with k5ii/s isn't such a great idea
Mainly my pictures will be while I travel.. nature, landscapes, buildings, kids and indoor once in a while...
Any suggestions here are greatly appreciated thanks :)

Hello Guys,,
I am based in London.. I work as an SQL Developer..not much into photography other than with my phone and an old point and shoot I have.. Decided to get my first DSLR and after lots of research decided I wanted it to be a Pentax (not such which one yet..K50+18-135 or k5 iis+18-55)..Thanks to my hours of time on this forum, I have discovered Pentax.
