I did get a response in mid Feb. Digital Media Source answered in the affirmative. They'll be getting my money for the K-30. Thumbs crossed.

The "What's in the box" section of the pdf manual lists the printed manual as an included item. Last week I repeated the question that I sent to Electronics Basket, this time to a different vendor on Amazon. The response the next day was, "I will check." A few days later, I sent, "Still waiting - any response to my question?" This time the response was, "Forwarded to sales dept." Still waiting. I'll post the response if I get it.
For those who did receive a printed (English) manual: Who was the vendor?

I ordered a K-30 through Amazon from Electronics Basket. It didn't have a printed manual, and I had heard that it should. My K-10D did. I contacted Pentax (now Ricoh, of course) to see if they could send me one and was told that they all left the factory with manuals, but that they did not stock extras. Perhaps I acted out of anger (I love the booklet manual, but hate the pdf version), and I returned the unit for a full refund, because I assumed Electronics Basket had removed it and sold it. There was an obvious place for it in the box.
Just out of curiosity, I emailed Electronics Basket this week to ask them about it. They replied that "this item doesn't come with an booklet manual."
For quite a while now, Pentax has been one of the only camera manufacturers to continue providing a printed manual. It's very disappointing to think that they have stopped. With the complexity of today's DSLRs, a little booklet that fits in your gear bag is really nice to have. Sigh
