K20D problems

I have never head of this problem but when I have the K20D hooked up to the 50-135(brand new) it will not work what so ever. It will not autofocus at all. When hooked up to some NON SDM lenses it will work, but seems to hunt quite a bit. Also when it finally wants to trigger it takes 3 pictures in a row. We have reset the camera settings and also disabled auto bracketing. Any ideas? Thanks so much.

Oh tell them like it is. You were throwing it high up in the air because you were so excited about it :) No harm no foul on the body. Thanks for posting here. Let us know how it turned out and your thoughts. We have not even had time to use it ourselves :( We got them in and they all went back out that day.

Pentax 28-70mm FA* avialable to rent

Kenyee. We are still tossing this around. Due to the circumstances of the lens...obviously you have to pay to play so to speak. Look for those prices to go down if anything in the next few days. Serveral factors when putting a rental price on that lens. Replacement cost, repair costs (going to Japan), avialability to replace, etc...

Just wanted to let you know that we have added at 28-70mm FA* to our rental fleet for Pentax. Should be in Thursday of next week. We only have one at the time and are working on an 80-200mm FA*. We are working on getting a few more of the FA* lenses as well. They are tough to find and even when we find them we want to make sure they are in incredible shape (Like New). We have been searching and searching and if anyone sees any please let us know.

We are also waiting to receive the 55mm 1.4 as well as the 60-250mm. Soon as they come in we will let everyone know.

Thanks everyone!

I am looking for someone who knows these boards and what pentax lenses and equipment people are wanting. If someone could compile me a list of what he or she thinks the Pentax community would like to see being rented could you please email me at barry@cameralensrentals.com

I am then going to start a poll and base what we add to inventory on that. We are looking to add some more lenses and please feel free to add 3rd party lenses also.

I think a poll would be a better way with a big list of lenses, than to recieve 50 emails with different things and me have to piece them together.

So I will let you talk amongst yourselves and maybe you can delegate someone to compile me a list?

I would really appreciate this as we look forward to expanding our Pentax lineup to suit all your needs!

Thanks so much for your help in this!

Craig,
I could for sure meet you somewhere. I have a real job during the day and all the lenses are at my office warehouse , so in the morning or evenings would be fine. Not a problem.

Is there a way to create a poll on these boards? We have had several requests for different lenses and are going to be adding some of the suggestions. If there is a way that we can do this here that would be great. We have taken into consideration lots of suggestions from the folks here. Thank you so much to those of you who have helped me out with finding some suppliers of the harder to get lenses.

Just to let you know we have shipped 5 lenses to 4 different Pentax NUTS so far! I am sure you will be hearing about their experience soon!

Tom,
Your time actually starts the day after you requested it be there. So lets say you need a lens by the 14th. You will have it Monday at the latest and your time does not start until the 15th. So 1 week (7 days of usage) would be the 21st. The lens would need to be picked up or dropped off to Fedex by Monday the 21st. If you have any problems and say "Barry I missed getting to fedex, can I drop it off in the morning?" Im going to tell you "Yeah, thats not a problem at all, you just owe me a round of golf at the nicest course in your area." haha

Just to let you know I really try to have all lenses there at least 1 full day before your time starts. Sometimes even 2 days. This way it really lets someone play around with it and get familiar with it. That goes for bodies also. You almost need to call in an engineer to figure some of the newer bodies out these days.

BTW...if anyone talks to Ned, tell him I replied to his email. Sometimes email servers seem to throw us into the spam folder.

Whats that old saying? "What they dont know wont hurt em"?
haha
Seriously though. Thats up to you. We have a basic shipping price. Minimum is $23. From there your order is based on weight. So the small lenses would be $23 and if you added a couple..might go up to $27-$31. Thats round trip shipping. As far as the damage waiver goes...its in effect if you get it. Obviously the person renting the lenses would be the one responsible for my sake. You guys can sort out monies between you if something were to happen. If you need to check out our Damage Waiver Policy..its a great deal.

Hello all,
I wanted to stop by an introduce myself. My name is Barry Jackson and I am the owner of Camera Lens Rentals. We are proud to be the first online rental store to offer Pentax.

I am glad that there is a thread like this going! I have recieved several emails about suggestions and also where we might be able to purchase some of the harder to find lenses. We are carefully going through all of them. We are going to be offering more Pentax based on some suggestions we have had.

Just to let you know that we do sell all of our lenses. We get them at the same price you the customer gets them. We do offer a rental credit also. So if you rent a lens and two weeks later you decide you want to buy it, we will apply a portion or all of the rental towards the purchase.

Obviously since we just started with Pentax...all lenses will be brand new.

We are sad that we cannot offer to Canadian customers. Customs and such is a pain. Its not worth the hassle or the expense to ship it up there. For us or you the customer.

One thing that stood out in this thread was that someone was talking about shipping prices. The shipping prices given are round trip and with insurance. This protects both of us :) All lenses are shipped within a Pelican case, within a box. Each Pelican case is customized for that lens. We have found that our customers love this. Not only for the shipping protection, but they use it to carry the lens around with them. You will find our prices are some of the best around when it comes to shipping. We offer Fedex and USPS.

Please offer any suggestions you might have with the site, lenses, golf swing tips :) anything. I am now registered with these boards and will frequent them often.

If you have any questions about our service and business you can visit resellerratings and check out the testimonials. We are here for you the customer and look forward to earning your business and adding you to the family :)

Also about reseller ratings. We have had maybe..maybe half the people leave feedback. I can assure you..even the others would have left positive. Sometimes customers do not want to hassle with giving out their emails, and even then, some forget to click the confirmation link afterwords. I have a thing that if you leave a feedback, good or bad and it shows up there..you are automatically entered into a drawing for a free 3day rental on me. That includes shipping. You are entered every month even if you just rented one time.

So in a nutshell..take the positive feedback X2.

Thanks so much to everyone here. We are working as we speak on getting new options for some new Pentax lenses.
