Took some pictures of my truck (my favorite thing to take pictures of!) the other evening. I think I got some good ones while I was playing with the ISO amongst other variables. :) They are by no means professional shots but I had fun taking them and really learning how every variable works in making really good pictures turn into great captures! Enjoy! |

This makes perfect sense, thank you so much for the advice! That would definitely make it more visually appealing as well as add some depth. I do try to apply some of my old Video Production skills but it has been a while since I have made a film!
Thank you so much for your advice, much appreciated. It looks to be 61 degrees (F) on Thursday after a quick snow early this week, so hopefully I can wash up my favorite photo subject and take a few photos, as well as maybe head downtown and see what I can do. Thanks! :)

Been learning with the new camera! I still carry the owners manual everywhere I go as I try to learn, but many of these came out quite good! Please feel free to critique. I should have removed the orange parking permit, but it always seems to skip my mind (it's gone now). Shutter speed, ISO and Aperture vary as I play around with the camera, so I apologize for not being super specific. There are more pictures from both shoots on my flickr. I just selected a few to show off. I love the contrast of colors in this one. Between street signs, the turn signals, fog lamps and even the parking permit on the rearview, it all somehow pops. IMGP0108 by THatfield95, on Flickr IMGP0109 by THatfield95, on Flickr
Believe it or not, these pictures were taken in about a weeks time. Went from having around 8 inches of snow to none at all.

Thanks for the warm greetings. I was a bit nervous about choosing a brand that wasn't Nikon or Canon, but I actually talked to her today and she was quite receptive of my choice to choose the Pentax brand. She mentioned that they were a great value, and from what she knew their ease of use would be great for me to get going into the art of photography.
Once payday comes on thursday, I'll be placing my order. I have my eyes on the K-50 for sure. I'll check back in once I have some hardware.
Thanks!

Hey there fellas. I'm not quite new to the photography world, but am new to the Pentax brand. I have used several Canon DSLR's of my Aunt's, who is a professional photographer, but I have never owned my own DSLR. Recently I have been really interested in getting into photography again, so after a week and half (at least) of research, looking at Canons, Nikons, Sonys (which I am a huge fanboy of Sony!), I am pretty sold on getting either a K-50 or K-30, depending upon my budget. I like the weather sealed body and leneses available at really good prices. All the reviews i've read of both K-30 and the K-50 praise it as a great camera, and I think it will be a great platform to get me into the DSLR photography world.
Can't wait to start exploring and taking photos.
