Godox Witstro AD180 review

Hi,

First helpful review I have read about these units, thank you. Helped me decide. I just have one question. Are the transmitter units made to be camera specific? the reason I ask is because I am thinking of the Yongnuo triggers I currently use. I have always gone for the N designation as apparently the Cs do not work with Pentax cameras. I am desperate for a more powerful flash than my Yongnuos and Metzs units and would love to get these.

Thank you.

Reagrds,

TJ

Hi THoog,

Thank you. I was being impatient. I did not even check my shutter speed I just assumed it would set max sync speed same as when I have the flashgun on camera. Finally got it to work though on normal (single shot) drive mode. Works beautifully.

Hi panoguy I got it to work but I had to set the drive mode on my Kr to remote. Not sure if this shoukd be the case but I am afraid that's the only way I can get it to work for now. Thank you for your response. It was very helpful

Hi,

I recently bought the Yongnuo RF-603 N and on testing it does not trigger the Metz 52 AF flashgun. Is it me doing something wron or are these not compatible. Camera is a Kr. BTW I can see the red light on the flash transceiver which I understand means the signal is being received.

I am stuck. Help please.

Kr TTL trigger

Hi fgaudet,

Thanks a lot for getting back to me. Very helpful and confirmed a number of things I already suspected. I have been using my KR's built in flash to fire a slave and it works beautifully I was just looking for an option for outdoor shooting over greater distances or where I do not have direct line of sight. I am about to go for the Cactus V5 but I know it does not send TTL info, I just wanted to make sure there wasn't another option before purchasing them.

Thanks again

Tunji

Hey guys,

need some help and have what is really two questions. Can anyone recommend a good, reasonably priced flash wireless trigger for the Kr? I am using a Metz 52 AF1 and need a trigger that will send TTL info to the flash.

The second question is to do with the Lastolite Ezybox Hotshoe Kit (38x38). Has anyone used this and can they confirm that the Metz 52 A1 fits. All the info I have seen says it fits most flash guns but most isn't all.

Thanks guys

Buy K3 in the US

Hi Todd,

While I understand your reasoning I really need to save where I can. I was going to use SRS a business in Watford, England but the difference in price is over £200. I also have a pretty extensive shopping list (lenses, light stands, umbrellas, soft box etc). Why does everything cost so much more in the UK?

Hi BlackTalon,

Thank you the thought did occur to me. I'm going to LA and found something called Hooper Camera in Chatsworth California. I'll check out B&H as well though

Thanks a lot guys. Your responses have been really useful. The plan was to buy it, unpack and start using it immediately. I never check in my camera kit (drives the Mrs mad because it reduces her hand luggage allowance) so it would come back with me as hand luggage in my camera bag. My Kr is going stateside with me so I'll be coming back with both.

Hi all,

I am a Pentax user based in England looking to buy the new K3 and I am finding that I ca save myself some money if I buy in the US. My question is - are there any issues/disadvantages to buying the camera in the US but bringing it back to England? I was thinking about extended warranties and such.
