After reading this and other posts, I see that I'm not the only person who owns both Pentax cameras and some other brand(s). I own Nikon as well as Pentax, and I like my Nikon equipment just fine. But if someone held a gun to my head and ordered me to choose one or the other, I'd take my Pentax and be more than satisfied with my choice.

For all around fun, I like my Rokinon 8 mm fisheye, mounted either on my K-30 or my K-3.

I've been trying to post this for a while but now I think maybe I have it figured out. I work as a volunteer at Brazos Bend State Park, which is near Houston, Texas. The park is noted for these guys.

Hi, my name is Mike, and I have owned Pentax SLRs since the mid 1970s. In 1968 I bought a Yashica TL Super, which had the M42 screw mount. It was a natural upgrade to eventually switch to the MX and my first bayonet mount camera. I still own the 50mm SMC f/1.7 lens that came with the MX, and I love it. I think it's the main reason I've stayed with Pentax.
I currently own a K-30, having upgraded from a K-x for my birthday last year. Although I still consider the K-30 a new camera, I occasionally think about upgrading some more, maybe even to a K-3, although I think a K-5 IIs would probably do just fine. If I went with a K-3, I'd probably have to buy a new computer just to handle the larger files.
Glad to be here.
