Had the same thing happen to me when i sent my K-01 to Precision. Now what? I loved my K-01.

I have the same issue with my K-01. I will take a few shots and then the display in the back goes black. The camera will still try to meter, but it basically looks like the shutter is stuck. I try pressing down the shutter button, changing the battery etc. Sometimes it will free up and somestimes not. has anyone sent their K-01 for service?

So the battery had no charge the other morning. I put it in the charger and let it charge overnight. Popped it into the K-01 and got the green full charge indication. I still bought an extra Pentax D-LI90 battery which I am using now. The old battery is now a back-up. Thanks for the help, everyone!

I did but nothing happened. The strange thing is that the outline of the battery indicator is in the display, but there is no green or red inside the outline.

I turned on my K-01 yesterday and there was no indication of battery life whatsoever. I took out the battery, put it on the charger for several minutes until the green charge light went out and put it back into the camera. Still no battery life indication. Used the camera to take a number of shots, everything else seemed to work fine. Anyone experience this?

As noted before, it takes some practice. The rubber flap is one smart design feature out of the many smart design features with this camera. A hard plastic door would have cracked and broken.

Well I may be the oddball but a big selling point of the K-01 for me is the Marc Newson design. Straightforward with just the right amount of buttons and dials, easy for my big ham hands to grip, and so damn cool. I really think it shares the philosophy of Leica with a cooler edge. Flame away!

atop a Three Legged Thing tripod. Belt and suspenders solution to grip. Still, I have no problem gripping the K-01 handheld as is. I am missing something here...

Unfortunately the pattern is too clear. Bodies that are too slim to hold properly that then have to develop a handhold "bump" to make usable. Long live the K-01! Oh and don't get me started on the retro thing...
