The three prong plug plugs into the side of the flash and the other plugs into the pc sync port on the camera. I would include a picture but I'm at work and it's at home.

I use a Tamron SP 90mm f2.5 that I have owned for over 30 years. With the adaptall mount it has seen use on both my Pentax's and Nikon's. I also have the extension tube to make it 1:1, it is 1:2 without. For macro, autofocus is not needed and may be a hindrance in most cases as far as I'm concerned.
The Adaptall2 mount comes in two flavors, P/K and P/KA, both work but the KA is more desirable and also more costly and seemingly rarer. For around $200 all can be had with a little shopping around.
A very sharp classic lens well worth checking out.

I would venture to guess $260/$285 as long as it is in really decent shape. Go high and adjust accordingly.

Will most likely work but only in auto mode, camera set on manual. I've used my SB-800 on my K-5lls this way. The major downside is the locking system on the Nikon, it uses a pin to lock it to the hotshoe and of course it doesn't align with the hole on the Pentax. The flash will move around just enough so that occasionally the flash won't fire (too often in fact). I ended up using my SB-28 flash which has a knurled "nut" that tightens it to the hotshoe and sits very securely, fires every time, auto mode, camera in manual, beautiful results!
Sell it, buy a Pentax Flash, a dedicated Metz (I have one now) or even an SB-28 (auto mode/manual mode/manual camera mode)

The Luna Pro SBC uses a 9 volt battery and has a silicon blue cell which is much better than the plain Luna Pro.
For flash also there is the Luna Pro F which measures incident and reflected as well as flash in both modes.

I have several meters but find that I like the Gossen Luna Pro SBC (an older model meter). Simple enough for a beginner but one that you will never outgrow. Analog not digital, somewhat large but not overly so. Prices run the gamut from low to high...check ebay.

Go with the 35. Superzooms are a trade-off...convenience at the cost of quality.
Macro, btw, need not be too pricey, consider a Tamron 90 f2.5 manual focus (autofocus and macro really don't mix well). I have one that I have owned since the early 80's and used it on my Nikon's and Pentax's with a simple mount change. Nice lens with outstanding image quality! Check ebay.
Also consider reverse mounting a lens or lenses. Check out the link for more info on how to. Reverse Lens Macro: Close Up Photography Lesson #3 - |

The red hair and beautiful model would be enough for me to love this photo but there's more. The picture is nicely balanced by the red hair and chestnut boots. Great light really separates the similar blues and gives it depth as well as highlighting the textures. An overall very nice portrait!
