Took this handheld, 7 shots total. A really heavy thunderstorm was brewing and the clouds were really beautiful so I decided to capture the entire scene.

The lights on the right side of the image are coming from the nearby Las Vegas. This is about 30 mins away from my house :) Hope you guys enjoy :) |

Pretty sure I haven't posted this exact image here before....I took a solo trip to Death Valley at the beginning of this month, to do some astrophotography. The yellow/orange light you see underneath the Milky Way is the light coming from Pahrump/Las Vegas....It was barely visible, but with a 30s exposure it made its presence...anyway, I was looking through my pictures from that trip and I wanted to post this one :) Enjoy |

Taken yesterday at Death Valley...more of an abstract way of seeing architecture....these sand dunes have been there for hundreds of years, so I think this picture qualifies for this contest :D |

My first more serious attempt at astrophotography....no astrotracker. K3 + Rokinon 8mm at f3.5, 30s exposure, 3200 ISO. Overall, I like it, but way too much noise for my liking... :( ---------- Post added 6th Jun 2016 at 13:27 ---------- UPDATE: I decided to try out Topaz Denoise and wow.......It really helps |

An old picture I took when I first got my K10D and was testing out my Takumar 55mm f1.8 :) This was in the spring of 2014 I believe.... :)

Hey there,
Right now my main body is a K10D, and it was my first ever DSLR which I bought in 2014. I have got to say, I was in the same boat as you, K10D or K20D....which is better? What do I choose?
I watched tons of YouTube review videos, read forums, looked at pictures. I managed to get a very nice copy from a fellow forum member, the camera being under 2000 actuations with a MagicLantern guide and extra battery for $100, which was a steal at that time.
Anyway, I'm very happy with the sensor, the colors are beautiful and I'm very happy with it. Low-light performance is bad, unless a flash is used for snapshots. Long exposures look amazing. I would say go for the K10D because of the sensor, as the K20D has a different one and color rendition is a bit different. Here are a few pictures taken with the K10D, one in natural light, one with the built-in flash, and one long exposure. Also, note that I only use legacy glass (Takumar lenses) so I have no idea about the autofocus and how it works/compares to the K20D.

Long Exposure:
I know the sensor is dirty, just ignore that :D

Here's a photo which I haven't shared here until now....shot at the Jewish Cemetary in Warsaw, Poland in May of last year. Picture just goes to show that no matter what we do in our lifetime, nature will always beat us, in a way. Let me know what you think. :) |

Here's a shot from last summer, made with a Takumar 55 1.8 lens, just an amazing piece of glass overall. Unfortunately, all the RAW files, and almost all of the PP images from that summer are gone....a ransomware virus took all of them away from me. Anyway...This is a shot which I'm very proud of, as it shows my little brother (8 years old at the time) standing on the beach, gazing into the horizon as the sun is setting in the background. The shot was not staged, and that's why it's so special to me. :) |

I use only legacy lenses which only have manual focus...I only use the center point, just to confirm that what I see really is in focus (for wide open and low-light shots) so yeah...you don't need 100+ :)

I had a one day trip to Thessaloniki today, and just got done editing my photos. I took this photo with the fish-eye Samyang 8mm lens. It's a hip shot and in PP I've only slightly boosted the contrast. What do you guys think? In my opinion, the tilt of the picture makes it more interesting :D

Took this picture in October of last year. I managed to capture the dog as it was yawning, making it seem as if he was howling. In my opinion, it's a pretty cool pic, but let me know what you guys think! :)

I'm starting out and I only have the older lenses..the good old Takumars..maybe they arent as easy to use and arent as convenient as the newer lenses with AF and so on, but I think that fully manual controls on a camera are the way to go, especially if yoh haven't used a film SLR before. Those lenses have great prices for quality glass..without all the extras of today's lenses...with that said..i also collect vinyl records because they are better than CD's..so i guess im more drawn to the older tech..even though i'm 18 i still shoot film haha
