Thank you, the abstract appearance was my goal with this photo, kind of a yin and yang :)

This photo was taken with my first DSLR, the K10D and an old Takumar 55mm f1.8 during the summer of 2015. It was a random shot of my little brother and the sunset behind him, but it's definitely one of my all-time favorite photos that I have taken.

Feel free to critique this photo. I took it as the sun was setting but unfortunately the sun was behind the hill on the right so I couldn't get it when it was on the horizon. :)

The flare distracts a bit too much, otherwise good photo.

Took this handheld, 7 shots total. A really heavy thunderstorm was brewing and the clouds were really beautiful so I decided to capture the entire scene.

I have the O-GPS and it's very good at tagging. also, if you ever plan to do astrophotography, its very good for the price. I bought mine both for the astrotracker and gps abilities and it's worth it.

Yes, I'm looking to get my very first external flash unit. For now, I don't have use for triggers, and remote flashes, etc. I also don't have any problem with learning to use a manual flash, as I mostly use manual for capturing photos anyway.
I'd love to buy a Pentax flash, however my budget goes up to about $100 so I'm pretty limited in my choices, so yeah... the Yongnuo flashes might be my best bet.

Okay so.....I've never used an external flash but I want to buy one because the built-in flash doesn't work that well with my DA 18-135mm WR lens.
I've been looking at the Yongnuo flashes and the IV looks pretty good for the price, which is the main reason I'm looking at it. I don't know how to use a flash yet so I don't see a reason to spend a lot of money on my first one. Can you guys give me some pro's and con's of this flash, and if it's a good beginner flash? :D
I'll mostly be using it for portraits and candids, and maybe sometime in the future for event photography (like in a club). Any help is appreciated :D

Thank you, I think the contrast between the light and dark sky is pretty nice, with the clouds kind of making it feel like it's either sunrise or sunset :)

Thank you, I had some shots with incoming traffic, but it caused too much flare, so I only used the ones with cars going in the direction I was shooting.

The lights on the right side of the image are coming from the nearby Las Vegas. This is about 30 mins away from my house :) Hope you guys enjoy :) |

Hey guys, so I was at Red Rock Canyon last night, trying to do some night shooting, long exposures, and I had the DA 18-135 WR lens on my K3. I couldn't figure out a way to focus it, since it was pretty much pitch-black, and the focus kept hunting back and forth, never stopping. Then, I turned it onto MF and tried to focus it myself, but the focus ring kept turning and turning. Any advice on finding the infinity focus spot on this lens? I had to resort to using my Rokinon 8mm, which I could focus without a problem.
Also, when the camera was trying to focus in the dark, I couldn't press the shutter all the way, i.e it wouldn't take a photo.
I'm gonna try to go out there tonight again, and I might just use my Takumar 17mm f4 instead...

Thank you so much! I'm glad you like it. Being there really puts into perspective how tiny we really are.

Pretty sure I haven't posted this exact image here before....I took a solo trip to Death Valley at the beginning of this month, to do some astrophotography. The yellow/orange light you see underneath the Milky Way is the light coming from Pahrump/Las Vegas....It was barely visible, but with a 30s exposure it made its presence...anyway, I was looking through my pictures from that trip and I wanted to post this one :) Enjoy |
