I haven't seen any mention of the shot by Michael Reichmann taken with "his" 645Z that is posted on the Luminous Landscape web page. Nice shot Michael

Following LL for the past eight years and having read and watched almost everything that Michael has posted, I thought he gave a fair assessment of a camera that he only had for a short time. I also knew Michael has purchased a considerable amount of cameras from several different manufacturers with his own money and he occasionally sells his used camera equipment to purchase more. If you go back and look at his old video journals like LLVD01 all the way up to LLVD20, which I have, along with most of the tutorials, it is very interesting and will give you a chuckle while he touts the outstanding performance of 8 mp. Michael, you have taken me around the world with you and I am grateful for your sharing of knowledge and experience with me. I may never be able to afford a trip to Antarctica but I have been there with you, we even took Jeff Schewe along a couple of times. Unlike you, I am new to Pentax, I was looking for something better and got a little frustrated waiting for Canon to decide whether landscape photographers matter anymore. I am still waiting, and for now my Canon gear stays in the bag while I use my 645Z. Michael, thank you.

Received my 645z Tuesday from B&H. This is the finest camera I have ever used. It is a joy to use and shoot. Here are a couple of pictures I took at an old hotel here in California. Even though that's room 14 1/2 in the background, it's not the Bates Hotel. Attachment 230201 Attachment 230199 Attachment 230200 |

I would agree with your earlier post, they should have let you make the video. If you are going to show off your newest product, it should look as good as the product it is replacing. I can take into consideration that light changes and maybe they were shot at different settings. However, Pentax should have made sure this video was giving them a true representation of their camera. I'm not saying they should interfere to the point of making it look good no matter what, but they should have competent people doing the testing. This was not a flattering video for Pentax. We can all "season to taste" but at least measure the seasoning and use the same amount. I'm sure I will be satisfied with my new camera, if I'm not, I will never tell my wife.

I ordered a 645Z last Friday and after watching this video and the comparison of the photographs between the D and Z I would have to say the color and warmer tone to the photos of the 645D were much more to my liking. A lot has been said about Pentax adding their look to this new sensor. Maybe they should have said "were adding our new look". After spending nearly $14,000.00 for camera and a couple of lenses I must say I'm a bit concerned.

New to the forum. I've found a great deal of information on this site. Thinking it may be time to make my Canon the backup camera.
