I was actually surprised to see so many people with a camera that morning, however, I was the only one with a tripod. Thanks

Hi Zoe,
I think you had a good idea with this composition, however, i feel you missed the mark with execution. The lack of good focus is very distracting.
Concerning the aperture; even though you may be trying to collect as much light as possible in order to get a good night sky image, you don't have to go full wide to f/1.4. Try f/2 just in case your lens is too soft at full aperture. Also, you may want to experiment with higher ISOs.
Keep going for it.

Thanks Guys,
It was my first attempt at sunrise in many years. I'm now planning photo shoots around my vacations.

HYS, Thanks. I'm hoping the camera is still available in December; that's when i"ll have the money. ---------- Post added 03-12-14 at 03:47 PM ----------
Luckily we don't have too many of those days around here. Scotland, however, is on my bucket list. I would go insane with so many photo ops.

Hey Ter-or, sorry it took so long to reply, I am new to this "forum" stuff. I have read extensively on the K5iis and cant wait to buy it, but I now wont be able to purchase it until December; hopefully they will still be available.

Some 20 years ago I was bitten by the Photography bug and decided to purchase my first camera. It was an awesome K1000. I learned a lot from full manual controls. I finally gave in to digital and purchased an istDL some years back and have enjoyed making pictures of many different subject matter. My next purchase (June or July) will be the K5 IIs. I look forward to participating in forum threads.
