It's too bad about the 18-35, on paper it sounds like such a great lens, but hearing all this about it's focusing issues...too bad...I love the bride on the beach, great shot.

Found this guy hiding up in a tree...saw a really long web going from the tree to the trampoline and followed it back to spot him hiding in the leaves...big spider, not poisonous so they make for great subjects. |

more observant of your surroundings? This may not be exclusive to macro photography, but I notice, that I tend to look closer to the landscape around me for patterns or other things that might make for a macro shot - though I guess you could say the same for normal photography.

So I came from a Canon 20d...and was use to certain limitations. Last week I found myself in the Muir Woods in California and it was late afternoon. I found myself sitting on iso 6400 most of the time because of how dark it was below all the trees and growth. I wasn't really holding out a lot for the shots, thinking I'd have to keep these at small sizes...
Well wasn't I pleasantly surprised to find some of them quite usable, and looked a lot better than I thought they would. Seriously...loving this camera!!! Click images for more info
