I am biting the bullet on the KP (barring any further developments in a currently still assumed K3-II sucessor).
Would there be any wisdom in keeping the Tamron 24-135 and adding the Tamron 10-24 over trading in the Tamron 24-135 for the Pentax 18-135 and adding the Sigma 10-20/3.5.
The latter option is going to be considerably harder on my budget.
The recent update of the Tamron 10-24 is quoted as retailing for $499.
Thanks for any input.

This lens - again - does not show up in the PF-database, any specific info would be appreciated.
How does using a 200mm macro lens compare to using a 90 or 100 mm other than for working distance and DOF.

Still working fine, purchased in 1988 in Hongkong just after it came out.
The Yashica Samurai is a half frame SLR, giving usually 75 images on a 36 roll of 35mm - never tried a roll of HP5/72.
DX film works best.
With the two convertors it goes from 20mm to 140mm.

I am still sort of wondering why this type of design never made it. this contraption is a really nifty one-handed shooter.

Sorry I got misunderstood.
I own this lens and I can not find a review of it in the database.
and yes it is a P&P zoom as well as 3.5-4 / 80-200.
At the time I bought it, it fared rather favorably in tests and I have used it extensively on my film camera.
Sorry for the quick shots from my phone. ---------- Post added 03-04-15 at 02:32 PM ---------- weight 670 gr., 6 diaphr. blades, clicks in half stops, length 14.5 - 16.5 cm, positive pull, 52 mm thread, built-in retractable lens hood.

Perusing the 3rd-party lens database I noticed that a review of my (ancient and thus manual) Sigma 80-200/3.5-4 seems to be missing.
It is a nice and rather compact push/pull zoom that came with a matched close up lens and an attached retractable lens-hood. In my film-days of yore it practically lived on my Ricoh XR2.
I have been wondering whether or not to replace this lens with a Vivitar Series 1 70-210/3.5 to pair up with my recently arrived LX.
This latter lens is now going at unbeatable prices on E-bay but since I already have a Tamron 24-135/3.5-5.6 (paid €125 for it incl shipping) there would be no real need other than to satisfy my LBA.
Thanks for any insights.

Recently I got myself an LX in excellent condition .
It came a.o. with a fully functional winder - with only one snag : the cover on the el.connector on the left side is missing.
Perhaps not a big thing but the longer I have to look at it the bigger it gets.
Any suggestions as to where I might find this part ?
thanks in advance

Today I received the object of a long harboured dream, in as near mint condition as it gets. body nr. starts with 0901.
The price was a total no-brainer for this set.
A few new batteries and I am good to go.
I am open to suggestions as to the most sexy manual lens for this set.
apologies in advance for posting a pic from my phone.
Note to self : perhaps change my nickname :)

Waaaaay back when I have used Kodak 5247 (http://125px.com/docs/motionpicture/kodak/ti0835.pdf). They came back as a pair of color neg + slides.
I remember the slides being rather thin in color and quite tinged with green (? ). Need to go digging through boxes in order to refresh my memories.
The film was purported to have a very wide exposure lattitude.
