Some photos go beyond the tonal range and it is clearly visible in the transition zones between shadows and highlights.
Will it take the K3 III Monochrome to relearn how to photograph in B&W?
My vote for #3.

The enhancement of images is constantly increasing, Photoshop, Corel Draw, Painter and so on, were born with the intention of correcting imperfections in images, not to distort them.
Unfortunately, A.I. is drastically ruining the concept of enhancement.
No. 2 is beautiful and I like the B&W, but this time I have to vote for No. 3, which reminds me of an image by a well-known photographer.
I will not say who.
Best wishes to all of course.

Intriguing and haunting, M42 is overall more difficult to photograph, however you could have done a little better.

It would be interesting to know who used it and how many pictures (memories) it took, good buy.

As with every round there are so many beautiful photos that deserve to be mentioned, today I am tired of special effects and so I go on #9, simple and above all in B&W. All the best for the final.

Looking very much like the staircase that Hitchcock was inspired by for the film Vertigo, it is located in Genoa.
Nominate.

Hi, the perspective from below is more difficult to make believable as unnatural, the achievement is very good,
probably you could have corrected the shadows and lights better. But this judgment is only theoretical,
which lens did you used?
My vote #7

In the K-30 I found some similarity to the 'Satobi' with the 'Muted' setting, basically desaturates the colors making them closer to pastel colors.

I have been using Photoshop for many years and it remains the best software for graphic editing of course raster images.
However I don't recommend it, you need a very long learning curve to take full advantage of its power.
I've only used Affinity for testing but it's just a bad copy of PS,
RawTherapee is interesting because it is freeware and can handle the best Pentax raster images, both Raw and Dng.
Obviously it has some limitations. Darktable could be another solution but I've never used it.
By now new programs are based on artificial intelligence, examples are: Luminar Neo (developed strange to say in Ukraine),
it's a powerful photo editor but it depends on your taste you can replace as you know the skies, insert or delete extraneous elements to the photo etc, in all honesty it doesn't excite me.
The last program, (actually there are two versions), 1st. CameraBag Photo & 2nd. CameraBag Pro, the first just for photos currently costs $30 the second for photos and videos costs $50,
but currently there is a 15% discount. I leave the link where are listed all the requirements. I hope I helped you in your choice. https://nevercenter.com/camerabag/ |

The new 'Satobi' profile has improved the already wide range of Pentax profiles, having it ready in the camera is a big plus.
I would have liked it on the K3, K3II and KP series as well. For the improved astrotracer I don't think it's feasible.
Some people complain about the fact that they don't want to downgrade e.g. from ver.1.60 to 1.50, well every upgrade generally provides more benefits than failures. ---------- Post added 17-04-22 at 05:14 ----------
I had thought of something similar, in fact I found confirmation in a video by Kerrick James, who claims that it is very similar to Kodachrome 64,
with less saturated colors and very similar to the films / slides of the 70'. Having it ready-made saves a lot of time.
I shoot only in Raw and when you don't have time for Jpeg/Tiff you can convert it in camera with the appropriate function.

''Seize the day'', this is in everyday life the key moment for the success of an image no matter what it is.
I like No. 15 for the variety of shades of colors and lights,
if it had been taken 5 minutes earlier or later the result would have been very different.
