Original photo was developed with -3, 0 and +1 EV, then all three photographs were combined into one HDR image using easyHDR software. Last step was a conversion to b&w image with some additional processing. Photo was taken during short winter day in the Tatra Mountains. Sun was bright and low on the horizon - that produced very long shadows.

Yes, this could work. Have never seen product like that here. Thanks to @csa

-40C is okay with good clothing. For example my hat has nice insulation and thick rabbit fur on top of that. And on top of that I use tight fitting hood. For first layers of clothing I use "heavy" merino wool which just rocks.

For hands I use large mittens in which I use merino wool gloves. I only take off mittens when composing a picture. If I use hand warmers inside the mittens it works super good. Also, it is vital to keep good blood circulation by spinning hands in large circles every now and then.

Just found this picture from about a year ago. I nearly deleted it, then didn't. It speaks to me of a phantom or ghost or some otherworldly creature. Comments. Do I keep it, or delete it.

i cans spi spyder too... took this shot last night of this busy critter, and it was a rather exciting experience with my make shift macro setup.. I was holding a stack of the wrong sized close up filters to my manual focus lens A70-210 with my hand maybe an inch from this thing while focusing.. it didn't seem to be able to care less while it had more important matters at hand, but I had to overcome my silly fear anyway...

I spy a few dangling tree leaves, with just a hint of color. BTW: A monofilament fishing line, not a spider's web. Not many fishing access points on this little pond, and this is a bad spot for casting.

haha that would be remarkable!
Though I'd have a hard time trading in my K-30... It was my first DSLR and we have this sort of bond now; through the thousands of overexposed, out of focus, and decomposed shots I've taken...

Hi everyone,

WOW, thank you so much for all your replies - you guys are so welcoming and I feel right at home.
We had a really old windows 95 computer, and it never occurred to me to try to recover the hard drive. Now I know to back up everything I take!

I have a k100D: love it to death. Currently I'm using SMC Pentax-M 50mm f/1.7 with it. As of now I'm basically taking anything and everything I see, but I like shooting flowers and symmetrical stuff. I'll post pictures when I take some post-worthy stuff.
