This is definitely a great discussion. I have no experience on the matter but reading the hypothesis makes me want to try something similar.

I had the same dilemma a while back and ended up buying the Samyang 16mm F2 manual focus, there was a big price drop on Amazon.ca (280 CAD) and I jumped on the occasion. I was looking for a wide angle for night shots, the fast aperture was the priority . Maybe the 14mm would suit you better, slightly cheaper. I agree withe the used lens option, you could always sell the lens back if it is not enough wide or fast enough.

I did leave my K-30 outsite at -28 C one night until the battery died. Did a great job for stacking and star trails with around 400 pictures. Stabilization was off since I was on a tripod. The next morning I brought it inside in a plastic bag, let it warm up and installed a fresh battery, worked fine. It is not because that they do not certify the camera under -10C that it will break or have problems. Most industrial cold temperature equipment is rated at -40C and still works in the great north, like mining equipment.

I like it, would frame differently to remove a bit at the top. And yes natural wood decay is interesting!

I loved playing Scorched Earth on Dos OS. Now Shellshock is almost identical. Worm 2 is great and Worms Armageddon was played so much!

Really nice setup and results! Is the snow directly on the blue lid? I guess you had to separate each snow flake?

Bonjour de Val-d'Or.
You will love the forums. But be careful, it can turn into an addiction.

I am using the Lowepro photo Hatchback 25l. It is a relatively cheap option. The padded compartment, that is only accessible through the back, is removable and only takes half the space. 2 problems with it: I have the orange one and LOWEPRO written top to bottom, the black model seems OK. The other thing is that I need an extra strap to securely hold my tripod... in one of the water bottle mesh.

Oh and by the way, thank you!
Aside from the mails getting in my junk mail, everything works.

Nice picture, I can feel the cold... or the AC just kicked in. I like the barely noticeable tree line at the back. Is it just me or there is a purple tint? Could be my monitor.

The condition is stated "as new" and I cannot see any dents or even wear marks on the images! On one I can see 2 film backs so I guess a 120 and a 220 one.
From the Ken Rockwell website: " 645 film (56 x 41.5mm) has 2.6 times the area of full-frame 35mm (36 x 24mm)", I found that considerably bigger! I intend to use my Epson V500 scanner for the negatives.
The price on EBay for 6X7, 67 and 645 cameras are all higher, used, for parts, body only, etc. That was my reference to call this offer a deal. Maybe I am not looking at the right places?
As for the film look, it was a joke, I am not in the cheesy filters like dust, glitters, flare, etc. My bad, sarcasm is funnier to when spoken.
From the info I found on the 55mm F1.8 seems radioactive, but I did not test it. see You Tube |

I have this exact lens.

Hi,
I found a mint Pentax 645 for around 300USD and I am resisting the urge to buy it. Comes with the 75mm lend, film backs, flash and boxes! I want to have your opinion considering my experience... or how deep I am already addicted.
My main gear is a K-3 II, Sigma 18-50 F2.8 Macro and a couple of other lens, Basic filters, 3 flashes and triggers. Have been shooting manual around 3 years as a hobby.
This is where it gets to my obsession. I have kept my old K-30 with the defective aperture control box for manual Lens. I have bought (for display and fun) a Spotmatic SP500, ME Super, Super Program, MZ-50, PZ-10 and SFXn. With those I have bought the SMC Takumar 55mm F1.8 screw mount (the radioactive one), Pentax-M 50mm F1.7, Pentax-A 28mm F2.8, Vivitar 70-210 F3.5 series 1 and Pentax-M 35-70mm F2.8-3.5.
Now I read all about how better is medium format compared to 35mm and I am still on my first roll of (expired, for art purposes) 35mm film.
The addition would look nice next to the other film cameras. But will it see any use? Is it worth the trouble? Should I just add a film look to my digital pictures?
I hope you have time to reply before I make a mistake... of close a good deal.

I dive and i do underwater photography, it is another world and another technique. The good thing with diving equipment is that it lasts a lifetime, take care of you gear and get to know it. When you know your gear by feel you will be more relaxed and do longer dives!
