Suggest you call Pentax Monday, send these photos to them, with all the data you have. Have you tried a total Camera reset? Try that and make sure you have the lastest firmware update, check again if still same problem send for repair. Some software issue for sure. Good Luck..

First thing I would do is Check the Pentax site, see if there is a firmware update for your camera.. When I bought my K5 IIs New in Feb, you would think it would be up to date.. Wrong.. Had 2 Firmware updates to the camera in 1 st month had it.. Good Luck, Call Pentax for sure..

Thank you for the comment, Original fog photo was much more interesting, but in the course of re-sizing it down in order to post on this forum it lost detail.. Live and learn....

:D My first experience with DSLR. I Live in Texas, but work in South Korea. When I was home last month I bought a K5 IIs.
The following is a couple photos I took out of my apartment window, one in day, one late at night in the fog. I live on the 28th floor so the photos are looking down. Hand held in Auto mode, night shot 1/8 shutter speed, looks like the anti shake system works.
This is an ugly hotel by day, (see 2nd photo ) but at night in the fog, I found it to be interesting in an eerie kind of way.
I welcome all comments.
Sincerely

Thank you for the greeting, I love France, I lived in France for about 4 years (89-93) so beautiful, I was working In the Middle East at the time and made my home base France.
I miss the beauty of the countryside and the food, in fact I had always hoped to retire in France, but things did not work out.
Am sad I was not into photography when I was there. I have so many beautiful images burned in to my mind, wish they were on a SD card, as I would enjoy going back in time.
Sincerely

Hi Again, 40 years ago, when I did it for a living, I worked for a large portrait studio company, most of my work was indoor family portrait type work, some school, university, and other commercial work as needed.
My interest are landscape, Korea countryside is beautiful, I am hoping this spring and summer to find the time to travel to the mountains and try out my new camera.
I enjoy studio work with great lighting, backgrounds, props working with models etc. However no chance for me to do that type of work in Korea.

I just bought my 1st DSLR, a Pentax (K5IIs) with 2 Lens (18-55MM) (50-200).
I am an old American guy that has a home near Fort Worth Texas area, but as I work as I South Korea, as I spent most of my time there.
From 1967 till 1973 I made my living as a professional photography, but I made a career change and followed my dream to be a professional pilot. Now that I am to old to fly and can only teach in simulators, I have become very interested in taking up photography again.
Things have changed a lot in photography is an understatement. I am very happy to find this group and I look forward to learning a lot of new tricks. Looks like I no longer need to carry around a Grey Card and a hand held Spot meter the size of my new camera to get the right exposure.:lol::lol:
I welcome all contacts and useful information anyone can offer, and I will answer all messages as time allows.
Sincerely

Thanks everyone for your replies to my question. Problem solved. Good advice on buying more than 1 card. I found a great sale at Best buy and ordered 3 - 16 gb cards. I will do firmware update before I use this unit. DSLR is all new to me. Lucky I know a little about computers I guess.

I have ordered a K5 IIs and I need to buy a SD card for this camera. I have not received the camera so I have no detail information as to what I need in a SD card. I think I read that this unit will only handle a 32gb card, but am not sure?
Should I buy the Sandisk 32gb Extreme or go for the more expensive Extreme pro?
Thank you.
