Do you think the light came in from the eyepiece? That is possible as I think a flash went off behind me at one point.

Yes I was hoping for that too! There was a somewhat similar image I think in Norway that was dubbed the jellyfish too. Tat research was "probable" but inclusively to be lens flare. The jellyfish is a cool.

Check out the weird image in top right quadrant. I think I was facing SW and we were an hour from Reykjavik. I've had two suggestions as to the weird image - lens flare or airship going sonic. Anybody get anything like this? I did get some great nice northern lights too but when I got back to our room at about 2 am this just really surprised me. It was very dark and the sky was not nearly as light as this image suggests. There were airplanes that night as I caught a flight path from one in another shot. I didn't see them at the time though. I don't recall a car or flash during this time frame of the photo but there were flashes and such earlier that didn't seem to show up on my other photos earlier in the evening. Just looking for some other ideas or better yet if someone has something similar.

Have you shot the northern lights? Easier than I thought but weird how much more color the camera picks up.

Ha! I'm in Iceland at the moment. Contemplating sending the photo to NASA or something. It's very strange and I'm not experienced or smart enough to make sense of it.

After 30 years go not taking photos at all really, I finally am back at it. I'm so happy,
I'm wondering if anyone has captured an aircraft breaking the barrier at night? I think I may have (accidentally of course) but am not sure at all what I've got. I was looking for northern lights in the sky in Iceland on Feb 28/14 and want to compare.
I'm on holidays and can't load the photo yet but will next week.
