All you did was clean up the slow speed assemble. You need to make the curtains complete their cycle together with the mirror box. take the bottom off and see if their is a way to release the wind up mechanism and try to rewind it. Remember do it at your own peril. Personally I would dis assemble it and go that route. Don't force anything. Could just need a slight lubrication and slight adjustment on the curtains. Better read the service manual first. ---------- Post added 03-09-24 at 08:23 AM ---------- i would try to nudge the closing curtain closed ,DO IT AT UR OWN RISK

Goes without saying clean all electrical contacts. Also you can manually rewind the camera and then after, just bump the rewind and it should fire. also with the film canister out push the 2 pins in the back and press the shutter button

Even if I go along with that, it is a pity they could it made it so a mere sliding of a switch could given the best of both worlds. Just saying

I just replace the curtains my self, but I CAN. Most people cannot. You certainly can try that goup approach first. My feeling is it will work for a while but it is never as good as a Sutter Rebuild EVER.

Just what the previous poster said. Never ever ever paint a curtain, and be careful with solvents even alcohol can cause that.

You can use pliobond or rubber cement like for fixing a flat tire. make sure the orientation is correct. I believe you can get curtain material from B H Photo. PM me ill tell you more

that a funny thing. Listen the truth is the best cleaning is use the blower first, Followed by A sensor swab and you choice of cleaning. I generally use isopropyl alcohol, then I follow up with a sensor swab and eclipse. Bear in mind I almost never clean my sensor, the reason being is any time you clean the sensor you run the risk of an achew ei scratched sensor. So stop shooting @f16 and your problems will disappear. The same applies to the Lens less is more. Remember every time you clean a Len you are indeed scratching it ,even if you don't see it. Micro abrasions ENUFF SAID. One other thing what works for me could be bad for you, so it is your camera and you bear the burden if you mess it up .
