Very nice capture Peggy! Cool looking birds, are they hard to get images of?

Good capture! These are such neat birds. I don't live next to water, but I had a Green Heron that used to nest in one of my oak trees. I didn't realize it was there until I found a fish on the ground one day:confused:

Thanks for those shots. My sister is just west of the train depot and downtown, and that neighborhood was spared.

Great contrast in the objects — charred remaining of trees vs fire hydrants; burnt truck vs buildings in good shapes in the background; dead plants vs kind words from a neighbour.
les3547, we had dense smoke and ashes raining down from the sky in Kent Valley, Washington a month or two ago, but not as bad as where you are at. Hope everyone is ok.

Excellent photos, Peggy. I like the B&W treatment and your composition really capture the devastation.

I do not know about the eyes. I am guessing it would have to do with attracting mates. I like the broken reflection, it gives a sense of motion to the photo. Water foul in their natural setting should not look posed. I like ripples and splashes!

Peggy, I'm glad these shots took you down memory lane and reminded you of Ethel. Those '64.5, '65 and '66 Mustangs were basically truncated Falcons with a sexy body, but somehow they were more than the sum of their parts. I got mine new in June of '64 and put 65,000 miles on it in 2.5 years - I'd have slept in it were that anatomically possible!
Jer
EM, the pics are of two different cars. The Mustang emblem is a detail I shot from a '65 'Tang convertible; the Plymouth is - as Lowell has informed me - a '70 Barracuda. Apples and Oranges. :)

She is flying the Union Jack upside down, which some folk will take exception to, me being Scottish... I don't give a damn.:lol::lol:

Just keep them coming now that you're an expert! :) They appear a little dark on my monitor so maybe open up the shadows a little? :hmm:
