And that's worse knowing Pentax did it before with a Non-DSLR camera (almost a Compact): the Q !
I was very surprised finding this configuration on a such small cam ! Pentax can continue surprising us with such products like Q and K-01 !
The M-X1, which I've tested, is a very nice compact, with Pentax software inside and that's very good, but the platform shared with his Olympian brother, limits all the Pentax engineering.
And the 2-3 sec per RAW taken was really annoying for me (how to take children photos with this extra-turtle speed ?) !

I personally get this K-01 camera a few weeks ago and have to say this is love at first sight.
If the design question is an extra polarizing question, I'm on the extreme positive side :)
The K-01 design is outstanding and "feel" is as good as on other Pentax camera: a lot higher end finishing than on other "all plastic" cams.
My "Pros" against DSLR (K5 for example):
- Design: with a PKA 50mm this camera looks great !
- Lighter (even if not so significant, but the loss of weight is really there)
- Smaller (even if not so significant, but the loss of height is really there)
- Such a Silence when using it (the K5 whisper is now a disturbing shoult ! -just a little exaggerating- )
- LiveView shooting so optimized in front of DSLR's
- Focusing with manual focus lens is so easy with this camera !
- So inexpensive, even with a double lens kit !
- Design ! Ah, yes, I've mentioned it yet, but I have to repeat it in front of the conservatism of other DSLRs
My "Cons" against DSLR (K5 for example):
- Sunny shots (yes, even if they are "makable", it's not so confortable than with a visor, have to admit it).
- No Grip, such a shame
I'm so happy with this, than I bought his little brother, the Q, for my wife.
And we are agree to say that, when Pentax get out of the usual lines with their products, they do such a great job, but, like it was said before, this job is usually understood.

Hi,
I'm from France and a Pentax owner since my daughter's birth, 5 years ago on next June.
The K200D was my first DSLR, and was bought, after a long research, for the top quality/ budget allowed to the item searched, as I always do.
I was impressed by the equipment of an entry-mid range DSLR, like the K200D was: weather resistant, shoulder LCD, alloy chassis, etc...
I was very pleased by this Pentax, so, a few months ago, I decided to look for a more "in the air" DSLR.
I bought a K5 but after a few issues with the AF, I was not as satisfied of my bought as I was with the K200D 5 years ago.
I think that the Fine adjustment is just something annoying and don't understand why a higher end DSLR has to be adjusted at home after unpacking it, unlike a more entry level one doesn't (never had to do this adjustments on my K200D and all the optics has a perfect AF).
After spending some time on this adjustments, I get some better AF but not as accurate as on my K200D !
Meanwhile, I bought a K-01, and, even if the optical visor is missing on extra sunny shootings, that's all I have to say about the negative side of this extraordinary -and extra cheap nowadays !- DSLnR -as a member call it- . I'm in love with the K-01 and I'm thinking about selling back the K5 and get a K200D again (I prefer the CMOS RAW render on the K200D, less "digital" than on the K5, and the RAW's are lighter to work on them !), so I can have a perfect couple at home: sunny shots (visor) => K200D, low light shots (extra ISO of the 16 Mpix ExmoR) => K-01.
My wife doesn't understand why I want two "chunky" cameras, so I bought here a Pentax Q, who is, I have to say it, impressive !
And now, she understand even less because she has on her hands one of the most little hybrid on the market !
Voilą, this is my introduction at Pentax forum :)
