For Sale - Sold: For Sale: Pentax K-3 Kit (K3 + 2-SMC Lenses, D-BG5 Grip and AA holder)

So I have the complete original kit. I have many additional small items that could be added to the kit.

All items are like new and clean. Everything was kept cased and I covered the lenses with filters.

Low shutter count of 4072 and I only had the Shutter-Flutter once when the battery was low.

2 Li-ion batteries are included and in excellent shape with extra charger.

Why sell? Because the kids have moved on and I still have an older K-30 as standbye.

Pentax K-3 DSLR Camera (Body Only) - Asking $435 OBO
Pentax 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 AL SMCP-DA Autofocus Lens - Asking $90 OBO
Pentax 50-200 f/4-5.6 ED SMCP-DA Autofocus Lens - Asking $110 OBO
Pentax D-BG5 Battery Grip with AA Battery Holder- Asking $45 OBO

I prefer to sell this complete. Individually the items come to $680+SH.

But I will sell the whole kit for $600 Flat within the US.

---------- Post added 11-25-15 at 13:21 ----------

Everyone asks the same questions: So I'll post this here as well;

The kit is not sold yet. K-3, 2 Lenses and Grip for the price of a new body alone. I bought it in April 2014 but now that the kids have moved on, it is just sitting. I don't have the heart for it now. First to offer $600 takes it. If it sits then Ill look at the OBOs. I have a K-30 if I need to take photos unless I decide to sell that with some lenses as well, later. The K-3 kit is the better of the two if you want bells&whistles. I don't need them now. I don' need the better video mode. I enjoyed it with the kids and chasing bugs.

Let me know. Everything is boxed up now! Ready to go.

K3 Crazy Mirror Sickness (Mirror Flapping Lockup) - Report Yours Here!

Just had my first Lockup/Flapping and stopped it also by removing the battery.

Conditions:

Battery was full bars (75%-90% really) charged last week but not used much. Have had my K3 since April without issue. The only change was that This time I shot in Green Mode as I needed to quickly get some various shots with shutter-button focus. Normally I stoot in Manual and have shutter-button focus disabled.

So I am not sure if MODE plays a part in it as well? This camera has 3000+ shots and the battery is well broken in I'd say.

FW: v 1.03
MODE: Green
Battery: 1 in unit, no grip.
First occurrence for me.
SN: 4842347

It is an irritating glitch that would be embarrassing on a pro-shoot I can imagine. But the K3 was the only Camera on the market that met all my needs and price range.

tethering my k-30

I can tether my K-30 with pkTriggerCord except for one minor flaw. Shutter Speed defaults to 30" and even if I try to set it father; it Click "Take Picture" and hear the shutter click. Then wait 10-12" before the second click and it downloads the photo. Even at 1/180"

Camera is set on Manual and under STATUS, I can see all the settings except Shutter Speed is listed as "0"

Camera storage in a car.

Early 90's I also had a diaperbag (before the economy went south and manly shoulderbags were invented that looked like DBs). Mine only had diapers ;-) And a Film P&S occasionally. Did not realize that an SLR would make that much of a difference. Until now; except that the right P&S can be a good fallback. But the cheap ones did so horribly that I looked at the results and lost interest in photography.

A macro shot of my windshield after a really great storm. Monochrome with modified tone by new backup (Pentax WG-3)

No one may like it as I do - but it makes me take more pictures with it and my K-3 and makes a nice wallpaper!

The Photographer IS more important than the camera; BUT a good camera has more functions which a good photographer wants. Or so I imagine! Cause I'm not there yet ;-)

Can't take pictures if the camera is in the car! If I am bringing a camera, then it is to use. So I carry it on me. At least the camera. Get some surprising shots when I am shopping that I'd miss otherwise.

K-7 FIRMWARE Version 1.12 KILLED MY CAMERA

Not funny! :(

I just purchased a new K-30 (how long has it been out of production...

Sure 'nough; was running v1.0.0

First thing was to charge the battery, second was to update to 1.0.6

Without a hitch but I agree; Phones can be unbricked... Arm7 boards can be unbricked,

Why not a camera? Anything running upgradable firmware should be unbrickable by design!

Thanks. I am glad I found this thread. That box should be checked off at production.

I was getting full of regrets until I found this solution...

I was quite upset when I turned on my K-30 and kept seeing the LCD on! It took searching until I found

https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/151-pentax-k-30-k-50/231840-turning-off-k...d-display.html

Pentax should have checked that box by default!

Wow thats a lot of useful info. Well, I will be careful about APUG. I DID find a local camera club in my area to try out next month. I will check out the K1000 SE and learn the differences. I do like that particular camera and can also move to a second one later. IT seems to be a great starter and beyond - But I wil watch prices and preferably look for a free offer. Almost got one yesterday but was later. I did find two free damaged ones that I can use to learn how they operate.

Thanks for all the tips and I will heed them all and patiently wait for free stuff. With 3 kids - I have a budget and no use paying for something that is given away if I wait patiently. Ill be on this forum alot and thanks for Erics website. I saw his name come up before but no link. BOOKMARKED!

Yeah, I finally switched to Linux after dealing with Win7. Now I am learning Gimp and plan on having a ball working with new photos in it instead of foto$chop.

This is a whole new world I got into.

Guess I need to find a good Camera store nearby. I found one and have learned that Pentax is like the Linux of Cameras. Popular everywhere but in the stores ;-) With Canon and Nikon taking the place of M$ and Mac... Guess Ill stop in anyway.

TBS? Not a problem, My first computer was an Atari400 followed by a VIC-20 I purchased with paper-route money. Digital is here to stay with me but Analog has its place. Although Quatum Physics is learning that even "Analog" is stiil digital at the lowest levels. ;-)

Ill bookmark them and pursue both paths. Thanks

Thanks, Wow did I mishear that news. Good to know that I can pursue film and use my digital for Color. I loved B&W as a kid and have some memory of some real cool photos my Dad shot that just would not have been the same in color.

So, seeing my dad's Canon T90 and BW darkroom as a kid.... Well I want to add BW film to my fun and am looking at finding a K1000.

Question: I remember the announcement that Kodak ceased production a few years ago and assumed film was going the way of some dinosaurs. I am glad that it appears I was incorrect? So, is BW film still in active production? Where can I find a Developers kit for BW at home?

I was introduced to photography as a very young kid with my Dad's Canon T90 and its need for a quarter to prop it up. He also had a BW darkroom in the basement. Unfortunately the computer age distracted me. Now, children later - I want to merge both and get back into film as I also look to aquiring a first dSLR.

I have decided on Pentax brand and am now looking for someone with a clean and working K1000 and help getting a BW developing lab going. I have 2 children also getting curious about film. Anyone with any old stuff that might help us get started?

Hope to meet other shutterbugs in my area and am looking to learning about astrophotography as well. I love the stars but point-n-shoots just dont cut it!
