Thanks. Unfortunately the branded T-shirt makes the photograph unviable, but I like it too. I am getting better at zone focus with the 50 mm. The benefit of 50 mm lenses at this focal distance of about five or 6 feet is that action is isolated and there’s less of a risk for unwanted content. I think wide-angle street photography is becoming a cliché.

Thanks. That shot really shows off the character of this lens. It has a cinematic quality at F5.6.

"At the enchanted metropolitan twilight I felt a haunting loneliness sometimes, and felt it in others—poor young clerks who loitered in front of windows waiting until it was time for a solitary restaurant dinner—young clerks in the dusk, wasting the most poignant moments of night and life."

I grow old, I grow old. I shall wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled.

Incidentally, what is all the fuss about autofocus?

Veris leta facies
mundo propinatur,
hiemalis acies
victa iam fugatur,
in vestitu vario
Flora principatur,
nemorum dulcisono
que cantu celebratur.

The joyous face of spring
turns to the world,
winter’s army
now flees, defeated;
dressed in bright colors
Flora reigns,
the harmony of sweet nature
praises her in song.

You can toggle the Loupe Overlay in the "view" menu. That will give you some lines to work with. I hope that helps. From what I see, you will also want to use "rotate". Sometimes I just hit "auto" and it works out well enough.

Do you use Adobe Lightroom to process your photos? If so, there's a handy perspective control feature which can straighten the lines of these kinds of pictures.

This is the most explicit understanding and intuition which has ever undertaken visage by human oculars. Except of course for the shadows in the mountains. Which look like Atari.

Like I said, it's a nice shot. In my growing pains using cameras (I don't dare call myself a photographer) I've found it useful to keep an eye on the shutter speed at all times. That's all. Too many blurry disappointments. Just trying to help.

These are images I made at the March for Our Lives in Manhattan's Upper West Side yesterday (March 24, 2018). The signage contains language which may be offensive to some; thus I have categorized these pictures as NSFW.

Right. But when you’re shooting that focal length lens in daylight, you should almost always have shutter speed at a minimum of 1/500.

Nice shot. Too bad about the shutter blur. At ISO 100 you had plenty of room for 1/500 or faster. Something to keep in mind for future endeavors.

I still own this lens. It’s amazing on mirrorless bodies as well.
