PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
smc Pentax-F 50mm f2.8 macro

Asking Price
300.00 USD

Item Location
Stoke on Trent (UK)

Item Description
Selling my wonderful Pentax F 50mm f2.8 macro lens due to a serious case of LBA over the last few weeks, and macro is not really my thing.

It's in superb condition with very minimal signs of use, the glass is in pristine condition with no visible signs of dust, no coating marks, no fungus, aperture blades are clean and snappy.

AF is as fast as any other F series lens and accurate considering it's a macro lens.

Comes with original Pentax front and back caps.

Would also be happy to trade (UK Only) for a FA 35mm f2 or Ltd 70mm.

Price includes shipping in the UK, outside the UK please PM for costs.

This is my first time selling on here but I have been a long time buyer/seller on eBay with a 100% 805 rating.

Cheers:lol: I'm going to place the listing on here when I get time to figure out how to do it, and it will be worldwide postage.

On eBay i state UK postage only as like we have mentioned before there is some dodgy buyers and sellers, but on forums like this one, I trust everyone as its like a big family. The worlds a smaller place now so posting to the other side of the world isn't a big deal anymore.

The Pentax FA 28mm f2,8 is my most used lens, just love the fov it gives me, closely followed by the F 50mm f1.7 and the FA 135mm f2.8.

But for pure optical quality it has to be my F 50mm f2.8 macro, which I very rarely use for macro so does that count?

I'm trying to sell a Pentax-F 50mm f2.8 macro currently on ebay, and it looks just like my description:o, the thing is, it is rare, it is collectible, it is a hard to find lens, and it is minty. So what words should I use?

Depends if you are currently stood in a camera store:)

---------- Post added 10-13-15 at 08:25 PM ----------

In the last few weeks I've bought 4 F series and 1 FA series lenses in preparation for FF.
Last Friday I bought the Sigma AF 24mm f2.8 that was listed on here in preparation for FF.
So I am thinking I may not have LBA at all, but in fact I maybe just forward thinking, organised and well prepared ?

Just like someone buying up tinned food and bottled water for when the bomb drops....

In all fairness I have bought and sold on eBay for many years with only being scammed once within my first month on there, from there on in you learn very quickly.

It all boils down to common sense and also the knowledge we have of the camera market, also sellers feedback is your friend.

My name is Matt and I have been a long time sufferer of LBA. Phew that felt good to get that in the open.

What I have done is wrote a list of lenses I want and lenses I really need,

17 lenses I want, 3 lenses I need, so that didn't work either, but I can remember the days when I first started this hobby/journey all I had was my dads MX, a 50mm and 28mm and that's all I ever needed and wanted for nothing more.

Try living in the UK, $1 = £1 when it comes to manufacturers MRRP. Never worked it out?

I would rather import from USA, pay all the import tax and postage costs, and its made even easier these days thanks to the Internet and most American stores working it all out for you.

I really can't remember the last time I bought anything camera related from rip off Britain.

+1 for the Tamron 70-200mm f2.8, yes it is louder then the Sigma HSM lens but it's also a lot more expensive.

Why did the 135mm focal length lose so much popularity over the years?

This week I picked up a mint FA 135mm f2.8 for not much money, mainly in preparation for FF, mounted on my K3 it's a nice lightweight and fast package, but like others have said I find the focal length cumbersome and restrictive and can't see when I will use it, on the plus side it does produce a lovely picture.
