Moving away from the purpose of this thread. These images are so restful. No doubt in colour they would be great but these are a relief from visual overload. Thank you greyscale.

Yep. I read it and I get it. I ventured to Sony mirrorless for a short while but obviously kept my Pentax gear. I found myself in the doldrums, hated the Sony but carried on then always dithered as to which camera to use. I finally screwed my head back into place and sold the Sony with funds going towards the K3iii. The biggest thing I wanted was the floppy screen but I never used it.... Thanks for putting all the downside out there. Yes I've considered them all but I'm also staying with Pentax. I have ditched the camera strap though.

Hi Andrew. Just tried the camera yesterday - couldn't get a shutter speed to register at all, was using manual settings and decided on f8 as a safe bet in all kinds of light. Film asa400. Wanted to use camera fully on manual. Not used the camera before - bought second hand a few years back. Will see what comes out of it when developed.

I'm dabbling with an MZ 30 - need a lens that works with this - Must have the big A for Aperture Priority use - I think. Is there a list of such lenses please

Bought the K3 plus another lens. Now why did he put that lens on the camera? DA 16 - 35 F3.5 - 5.6 ED DC WR. Flu card. Filter - of course. Wireless release. The battery is on charge.

Deal done - K3. plus DA 16 - 85 mm F3.5 - 5.6 ED DC WR lens. Flu card. Wireless release and filter. Battery now charging... Then a firmware upgrade and off we go. Thanks everyone.

Thanks everyone for you constructive comments. I'm off to the Pentax dealer tomorrow for a very long chat and to look at various options. At the moment i'm now considering the K3 or K3ii rather than the K70. Pentax is so expensive in the UK but still more for money than Nikon or Canon. I will definitely be buying new as I want the warranty and extended warranty option. The K30 will go for repair. I'm told £210 inc Vat which should give a good second body. Let's hope so.

My K30 has now completely given up - even on auto settings. I have been struggling with the known aperture issues for a few months now and was planning on buying a K70. One, yes one, arrives with my local dealer tomorrow. However, I am concerned that this may also develop the same problems. The K70 is so new to the market that i'm dithering but have been committed to Pentax because of the lenses I have. What, if any, good comments, reassurances, can anyone give me?
