Let me know when your here and I may be able to set you up with a tripod if you feel you want use of one and don't want to pack it. A lot of the discussion here on what to bring I think hinges on time of visit and intended activities. I still think wr shouldn't be a deciding factor.

Being a vancouver resident depending on the time of your visit or planned activities I wouldn't say you NEED a w\r lens with you... As for wilderness in the Vancouver area there is much more than just a few trees and flowers in the park!
 Taken a 40 minute drive (and hour hike up) out of the city.

Hey All just stumbled upon the forum while looking into some purchases and thought I'd stick around and see what I can learn. As a chef I take a fair amount of food pics and as an avid hiker there is a lot of outdoor shooting as well. Look forward to picking up some tricks and tips from the community.
