sigh...ya, gotta be the lens then, need to replace it again:(.....really waste of time.
I used manual focus on both lens, and took couple photo with slight changes in distance, and picked out the sharpest of them for cropping......nothing wrong with focus, because i can tell its a different kind of blur when out of focus.
can't believe after 2 replacements...its still not a good copy.

I attached a new jpeg and photoshop file of the comparison with the other lens I have, with all same settings, center focused, and crop from the center point.
I understand about jpeg compression, so I also attached a photoshop file, but the fuzziness and color change are the same.
It always looks like it have a green/yellow tint vs using other lens type..under same W/B ofcourse. no lens filter are used on both lenses.
Since the only closest comparison I have is this manual 50mm and the da*50-135, and both produce really sharp images, after 2 replacements..... I'm really not sure if I expected too much from this lens......or its a bad one again...!@#%$

Okay, guess I'll do that then, I just thought that since with my 50-135mm, all photos I shot are shap except ones out of focus, but with this 16-50mm, the sharpest photos I picked out...still don't seem sharp, so maybe something definetely wrong with this one. But ya, guess I'll do a brick test to make sure.
Please come back to help me again after I got the brick shot photos.

(Poll Correction: the 2nd choice should be "Good Lens" not "Bad Lens")
Hi, This is my 2nd replacement of the DA" 16-50mm.
Original was decentered, 1st replacement had scratches, and here is the 2nd.
My problem is, no matter what the settings are, the images I took just dosen't look sharp and too soft. What I want to know is, is this how this lens supposed to be, or do I have too high of expectation. The only other lens I have to compare are DA*50-135/A* 135mm/DA Macro 100mm which all took extremely sharp photos, so I just need to know if I had too much expection for the 16-50mm....or do I need another replacement again..... I have linked here to various photos I took with the lens under different condition and settings.

This is my 2nd replacement of this this lens with SN# 9013566.
I have a question, because maybe my expectation is too high as I had some smooth zooming and focusing manual and other lenses. But for the 16~50mm. When rotating the zoom, is it suppose to be really smooth or no? To me the past 2lenses including this one always seems tight to zoom, and not smooth as there seems to be a damping point when going to 28mm.
for example, I turn the zoom from 16~25mm easily and as it get to 28mm, it becomes tighter and I have to turn harder to get pass it and to 50mm, but when I zoom back from 50mm to 16mm, its smooth with constant force applied. Also, for manual focus, when I turn the focus ring, it sounded like there is metal balls rolling against something. I posted a video here for everyone to see. Is this something I need to be concerned about, please let me know if I need to send it back again. I haven't tested the lens yet, because I'm at work and don't have camera with me, and the lens shipped to my work today.

My lens SN9029354 purchased brand new and well kept, de-centered, left half side of photo is always blur at all apertures and taken and tested at different angles. Sent it in for repair, received back SN9028009, the lens arrived with lens cap missing, and front elemental was scuffed up by the loose lens hood, the plastic around the front glass is also scratched up and uneven(as if someone try taking it off). Unsmooth/tight zooming and have clicking sound at certain points when turning the zoom. Did not even want to try taking a test shot with it.
Called them up, and will send the lens back again for inspection. VERY dissappointed:hmm:

Great lens, perfect condition on the glass, some usage on the outside plastics, but the glass is in excellent condition. Only problem! there is a little dust inside. It does not effect photo quality, but if you want to get that dust, it is on the 1st front element so it doesn't require a full disassembly. Very nice lens in its class and price range.

I have a PPC6700 with WM6,
I have followed all the steps but can not get it to work, I tested a nuii universal remote program and it worked fine and is configured to com2. with a range of approx 6'
However when I run this pentax remote, I have to set it to com1, and when I tested with a camera, I can see the infrared goes off with faint light but can't control my k20d at all. I tried other com ports and only says "can't set ir to serial comm"
I'm thinking its a wm6 issus, but not sure because I have no other pda I can test with.
