You must be feeding them the good stuff to get such shenanigans from your feathered friends
Always enjoy viewing your offerings. I hope to achieve a even a portion of the skill you show with your photos. Thank you as always for sharing.

Simply stunning. I am happy if the tree swallows are in frame when moving, but I guess with them being focused on the task at hand they might have been a bit more predictable. Gorgeous shots.

Nature Lunchtime at Birdville

Quite the frenzy today. I remember it took me 3 years to lure those goldfinches to my yard; using thistle seed etc. Finally they were coming in mass and I got a new cat who thought it was a good idea to hunt my feathered friends so I had to stop feeding them. Started feeding the birds again couple years ago and guess what the gold finches are eating the sunflower and safflower seed. So much for the thistle seed, though they love the cone flowers at the end of the season. Can you tell me what the orange hued bird is, not one I have seen.
Thanks for sharing.

Special treat for him, you and us now that you have shared these lovely images. Thank you. I haven't seen the blue heron yet this year. I have seen the little green herons and a grey egret, but not the herons yet. Thank you.

Nature The Neighbour's lawn

I assumed (I know better usually:o) that the atv crew would predominately be absent and loud enough to know when they are there to avoid any uncomfortable situations. I have had neighbors encourage me to come on their property to capture osprey nesting, but somehow it still felt intrusive. Peoples perceptions are so varied, it does make you wonder more often than not, but also how we get so many beautiful and creative works of art. Life would be boring if we all thought the same, but it would run much smoother if everyone just did it "my" way:lol:

Interesting story behind the house/ land and broadens your range in away it seems. I might find it uncomfortable to sit on the porch whether or not legal.
Particularly enjoy the apple blossom images, well done as always. Thanks for a great story.

Susan, you are too generous with understanding:). I've run into wrong lens, shutter speed, location and when I seem to have it all together; the birds don't show up! Maybe this is why I have 20lbs of gear with me when on a walk about, but it still doesn't mean you have the right set up, usually I will put the bird lens on while walking and change to wide angle etc at destination if the birds are slow -- they always seem to be there when you are not ready;)

Thanks. That was the closest we came up with last night with the book, but the size they gave seemed far off. The illustrations in the book were making this photo look good , was not depicting any of the pretty colors on her wings, so it left me baffled. She was very cute and petite, just disappointed I didn't get to see her babies or remember to adjust my shutter speed. Somebody is usually apt to fly out when going down, so I know better.
Thanks again

First I apologize for posting, well honestly a bad photo, especially since I haven't posted one in so long. I forgot to change my shutter speed etc. before going down to sit on my floating dock when I startled this momma duck -- excuses, excuses. It is one that I am not familiar with and could not identify with my trusty bird book. She took off from under our dock leaving her babies behind circling a distance away. I had to go to our upper deck so that she would hesitantly return to her babies. I never did get a good look at her babies; although my husband did see them venture out till they saw him and swam back under our dock. I never did get to sit on our dock last night :hmm: Any help identifying this fowl would be greatly appreciated. Located in SE, PA on the Delaware river. Thank you all.
