S'all good. I got my lens and body back from the service center two days ago and this bad boy is perfect. I'm so happy with the results. The service report indicates that they took apart the lens and adjusted the focussing mechanism. I don't know what this means of course, but it works . The issue was not with the body. They also cleaned my sensor up for me which is a little exciting too. All under warranty. How incredibly generous. I will continue to look towards Sigma glass in the future with these results and service.

Yes thank you. I read that thread over twice lol. I still didn't quite get from it what i needed i think. But it was most helpful nonetheless. I called my local service centre today and they were very understanding and suggested I bring it in to look at.
Even though it's a grey import they took the lens for calibration and have held on to the body just to double check. They're also going to clean my sensor it appears. All under warranty! I can't believe it. Absolutely amazing service here in Australia.
We'll see how it comes back in a couple of days...

I think I've done this right. I don't have a tripod. Not the best output for showing the fine details. Looks fairly front focusing to me though. I e-mail the vendor yesterday and they've promptly told me I can ship the lens back for an exchange. I would of course like to avoid this due to additional shipping costs. There is also the concern the body is making the error - so not much point in an exchange there. Anyways, here is what I came up with.
24mm f/2.8
39mm f/2.8
60mm f/2.8
Thanks for all the help thus far,
Mike

I know there's threads on this already but I'm still a bit confused with how it all goes horribly wrong.
I just received a Sigma 24-60 f/2.8 EX yesterday. I purchased it off eBay.com from an American store and I live in Australia. It front focusses like there's no tomorrow at large aperture. In bright sunlight stopped down a fair bit it seemed to be of less concern. Plainly put though... I want to use my large-constant-maximum-aperture lens indoors in low light.
I was trying to shoot at a fashion show tonight and everything was out of focus. I'm fair raged about the whole deal.
I don't think I can claim it under warranty here in Australia. I don't even know if it's the fault of the body of the lens (my other 4 lenses focus fine all the time).
Please would anyone have advice on how to go about correcting this issue?
Thanks much,
Mike

I recently pulled an old SF1 out of a relatives garage and it's not working. When I first was playing with it I remember it fired once or twice without issue then all of a sudden appears jammed. It won't roll film. It otherwise looks to be in mint condition. The motor to roll the film starts up and tries to operate but the whole mechanical train seizes after small movement.
The mirror is up and the shutter curtains are closed. I think something has jammed or broken in the wind release meachanism. I'm far from an expert at these issues so any advice is most appreciated. I've pulled the whole thing apart to the point where the mechanism is encased by electrical circuits which I'm finding it rather difficult to release from the body.
Thanks to all,
Mike

Wait, I figured it out by exporting catalogs and then importing them all into one.

I'm moving all my photos to a portable HDD as they're currently spread across two computers. My problem is I want to maintain the catalogs I have on the computers and generate a new one for all the photos located on the HDD. Essentially I want to be able to edit the photos from the camera without the HDD present. My issue is that while I can load all the photos in to a new catalog I haven't been able to maintain the settings and 'snapshots' previously created.
How do I carry this information across catalogs? Is this information stored in the DNGs? Is it best to export the images as DNGs than just copy them from their loactions on the computers?

How did you flip the mirror back up? I seem to have the same problem with one of my cameras and I've been told as a consequence the film won't wind on because the camera thinks the shutter is open????
Whenever I try to flip the mirror back down it just rebounds back up. I figure maybe if I could get the mirror down I could wind new film

Hello all,
I'm new to the film photography world and these forums and just discovered my grandpa's old SF1 hidden in a relatives garage. I've been using my father's Z-70 recently and went to load a roll into the SF1 and... it won't wind.
The motor seems not to be turning the mechanism despite the grinding sound coming from it and slight movement initially. Is there a trick to this model I'm missing or is it quite possible the mechanism is just broken and is desiring attention?
Thanks to all in advance, even if I don't get it working I scored a sweet 35-70mm Pentax lens for my Z-70.
