Has anyone yet managed to do this trick on the K-5 ?
The MODSET.505 file does not allow to go the advanced debug menu; it still shows the basic 5 or 6 test entries.

I'm looking for a used 100-300mm sigma. I'd preferably take it from an European seller to avoid customs.
I may be interested in a 60-250mm SDM if the price is not excessive.
Make your offers :ugh:

This one is awesome, it looks like a cartoon-painted B&W photography.
Is the night lighting something recent ? When I was in Dresden ten years ago, I do not remember seeing it as well lit as it is.

Have you tried with alkalines to see if it shows the same behaviour ? I can't tell about the rechargeable ones, I'm using alkalines with my 645Nii.
Maybe there is some lubricant issue on the shutter and the oil/grease is not as efficient as it used to be and the shutter gets stuck until there is enough energy to unjam it.

Thanks for the link.
It's weird I cannot see the imprint on my FP4 rolls. Maybe the contrast is too low and I missed it. I will check again tonight.

Hello
I just got my first two rolls of FP4 from the lab. The processing quality lis so-so, it looks like they have burned one of the frames, and cut the negatives while being on drugs, but I cannot see the imprinting on the negative (F-number, speed...), although I activated the option in the custom functions.
Where should it be located ? between frames (on the 56mm length), or on the side of the negative (41mm length) ? The camera manual tends to show it is printed on the shortest side, but it is not explicit (at least in my edition :))
Has anyone a scan example of what should the imprints look like ? google images is not my friend this time.
Thanks

What about asking Pentax for a repair quote and ask the seller for the same refund ?
You will be guaranteed to have a working lens.

Thanks, I guess that there should be no issue if TTL is working properly with the 48AF1.

Hi everyone
I've contacted metz support and asked them if the 58AF-1 was usable in TTL with a 645Nii. Their answer was quite evasive, asking me which kind of dSLR it was, and telling me that I if my camera supported P-TTL, the flash would be compatible if I was using the Pentax version ;)
Basically no answer.
So, has anoyone tried to use the 58AF1 on a 645nii ? Does it communicate the focal length as it does with the 540FGZ ? Is there special care to take ? (appart from using a speed slower than 1/60 or a LS)
Thanks for the heads-up

The NII has MLU and direct access to the 10 custom functions, but if you get the N with the FA75 and the 120, do not let it go !

As far as I know, the tammy 200-500mm was never released on Pentax mount.

Yeah, I know, can't find one at a realistic price for my LBA purse.
FA35/2 is a must-have as well :D
Oh, and DA15 ltd.
Must... resist... longer...

Mine just totally accepted my impulsive buy ofa 645NII : «Oh, I thought it would be wayyyy more expensive, go for it then !»
I'll try to put some pics with some parts of my collection to continue the game... Let me find time first :D

I'd say on the second post, the first one is taken with the 16-50 while the second is taken with the 28-70mm (I find my FA* being slightly warmer than my DA*)
Third post, Tokina macro, 77ltd and 50 f/1.2 ?

I have had no dramatic issues with PF with the F135, it's slightly visible in hard contitions, but nothing uncorrectable.
On the other hand, I find the chromatic aberrations really disgusting up to f/5.6 (still in hard conditions, trying to catch white branches in front of a dark stone wall), but still correctable.
Sorry, I have no uncorrected samples to show, but this one is the typical case where color shifting is visible : http://photo.zepsikopat.net/complete-collection/2011/05-may/06-luxembourg-ki...gp0400.jpg.php |

No issues with SDM lenses or powerzoom and the K20D with factory firmware. As stated by previous posters, only the K10D needed a firmware update to use the new motorisation.
There should not be any issue with DC lenses as well, they use the same power connection (but I never tried them on my K20D, I do not own such type of lens)

I've used the B+W 113 while in Crete, but never noticed any unrecoverable color cast (it's slightly greenish, but nothing really important)
Note that if you have a K-5, you can use the contrast detection autofocus even with the filter on (was working even on sunset light)

The menus of the option W series are really well made.
My sister-in law bought a W60 for her nephew some years ago, when he was only 4 years old (was a good compromise to have a rugged compact, because the parents could use it as well).
He was able to easily use the different mode even if he could barely read the texts, just because of the instinctive position of the items and the clear pictograms.
He was like "oh, I want to take a picture of something moving, I must choose the mode with the guy running. I want to take a picture of this bee, I must use the flower mode".
Seriously, for regular users, the IQ is less important that the ergonomics of the camera, and Pentax definitely has an advantage on this. Which consumer user would spend over 20 seconds to change the mode of the camera ?
The other features are more or less the same amongst all brands : rugged, water sealed, and compact...

I'm not sure it's the filter glass, it seems really thick just for UV glass.
OTOH, as Raybo stated, there is no coating reflection.... strange

I'm using an Optech USA Pro model. The strap itself is quite large and comfortable.
When I need to shoot portrait, I simply roll two or three turns of the strap on my wrist, until I have enough clearance to hold firmly the camera without being too tight.
