I just bought a used K100D Super and everything seems to be working fine but in the lower corners of the LCD screen there's lots of dust or something, and it's pretty distracting when I'm looking at night pictures or anything dark. The dust or specs are only on the screen and not in the pictures or the viewfinder, and can best be seen when the camera is off and black. Is the clear plastic replaceable and and would you ever try this yourself?

I'm REAL new to this and looking for a K100D and there is one on Ebay that comes with this lens and it's listed as a Pentax 80mm-200mm. I'm not real interested in the lens so I'm trying to figure out how much it should factor into my bid if I were to sell it?

I'm ready to buy a K100D and the best deal I can find is Abe's but I have a strange feeling about their ratings also but who really knows.
When I look up the same camera on Amazon the seller with the best price is Abes again. Would I be wrong in assuming when ordering through Amazon, Abe's would do a much better and trust worthy sale if this was going through Amazon rather than in house? If I order through Amazon am I basically avoiding any dealings with Abe's and just dealing with Amazon?

I'm ready to buy my first DSLR and on a budget of $400. I'm looking for a K100D or Super with a kit lens, and I've scoured the net searching for a great deal on one and haven't found one yet, the best deal I've found from a reputable dealer is Abe's for $499. Am I missing any hot deals anywhere? I might consider a used set up with one lens that covers a lot. I need to get moving on my purchase because I'm going to Hawaii in a month and have very little knowledge of photography and need some serious practice time.
Am I missing "the place" for a good deal or not being realistic?

I'm almost ready to buy my first DSLR and am thinking of a K100D but don't want to be limited with the kit lens and then have to buy a few more due to my tight budget. I see lots of posts about the Tamron 18-250mm but not many about the 18-200mm is there a reason?

Aegon,
Funny that you replied because yours was the one I was thinking of looking at after seeing your ad on Craigslist and here. From your post it sounds like you were in a similar situation when buying your first camera, and even though it's a great deal I don't want to be disappointed and regret my purchase and I have a feeling not having SR would be a big let down for me and turn me off from taking pictures.
I just bought a Canon A720IS and I'm really not even sure I should be buying a new camera because I have very little knowledge in photography but the difference between DSLR and most point and shoot cameras is so impressive. I'm going to Hawaii the end of May and I'd like to get something pretty soon so I have some clue at what I'm doing, and I have a lot to learn.

Well that pretty much answers my question then. Thanks for the help, I think it saved me from being disappointed with my first DSLR.

I'm thinking of getting a K100D or K110D and on a pretty tight budget and can do quite better on a K110D for the money. Would I regret not getting the SR?
