Not a good look..

It's easier, and more profitable, to sell people on what they "need" than what they don't need.

I get there's legitimate uses and desirability for high fps and infinite buffer. It just seems the way it's always brought up, like people are just itching for the day they can hold down the shutter button and capture every frame of a feature-length Hollywood film in one go.

I think the only legitimate point CameraVille brings up in his video is the potential of the camera overheating and it's possible effects on the sensor's performance. That's a fair criticism to explore, but as with most everything else brought up, it seems like a isolated/uncommon occurrence (overheating) that doesn't have further adverse effects (image quality/colour shifts).

Used sample images from DPReview featuring a fair amount of shadow areas, ISO 200, 320, 32000, negative exposure comp.

Default "Adobe Color" profile, white balance "As Shot", exposure +2, highlights and white/black point adjustments to retain highlights and maintain realistic shadows. No colour shifting. Even cranking exposure +5 shows no colour shifting in shadows or anywhere else.

Video issues (overheating, underexposure, colour shifting) seem like things easy enough to be widely reported. But I've seen nothing on these issues. Unless he's got some messed up settings for the picture profile he's using, I don't know how he's getting underexposure and colour shift issues in video and stills.

55 shot buffer seems perfectly usable enough to me, even for sports/wildlife. Could it be bigger? Sure, but whatever.

Menu system… from horizontal to vertical. Wow. So different. I don't have the K-3iii, KP, or K-1, but from what I see photo settings are under the photo tabs, video settings under video tab, general settings under general tab, advanced customization under custom tabs. Same logical layout as K-3 mark 1. Seems like a non-issue.

Wish he'd provide RAW files. As someone else said, flawed testing. Far from scientific. No effort to figuring out cause of issues, human error, camera error, lens error, editing software error, etc.

New firmware and electronic shutter is here

I wonder what the purpose of electronic shutter with the OVF would be? In terms of silent shooting and movement/vibrations, there's still the flapping of the mirror moving. Definitely an added benefit in LV, but in OVF it seems to me the only added benefit is a higher shutter speed. Any other uses?

From what I understand, the biggest difference of KAF4 is the aperture control and no screwdrive AF motor compatibility. The Pentax K-mount Camera Lens Compatibility Chart

I think the "limited lens lineup" reviewers always bring up about Pentax is in relation to modern lenses, not the library of Pentax lenses ever released.

K3-iii, any news on Eye AF and Video Codec?

Video quality looks like a marked improvement on the K-3III. I haven't used video too much on my K-3, but I remember it would always look too contrasty, resulting in highlights and shadows easily getting clipped.

Only lens I have a clear filter on is the 20-40 Limited as the lens hood is so small.

I missed the P-TTL requirement. I normally go manual when using flash so that's why it works for me.

Not needed but I'm definitely considering it as an upgrade from my K3. Updated low light and AF would be welcome. We shall see.

LightPix Q20ii is a really small flash that I have. Attaches to the hotshoe but can detach for off-camera flash with included remote. Power I think is comparable to what you'd find with a built-in flash, maybe a little more powerful.

Perhaps they'll compromise for the lack of an articulating screen with a superb tethering experience to mobile devices. From what I hear about the competition, no one does it well. Too complicated to set up, poor connectivity, high latency, poorly designed app, only works with the phone in portrait orientation, etc.

Probably not too likely, and not the same as an actual flippy screen, but it would be something.

On the hopeful side, remember this is what the K-1 looked like when first teased at CP+ 2015. No extra dials on top and a "maybe/maybe not" articulating screen of some kind. It was a 3D print mockup rather than a polished material prototype though.
