So I just picked up two LNIB mint Pentax LX and pentax original k to 42 adapters to use with my M42 takumars.
Pretty sweet. Guy tossed in a mint Fuji EBC 55mm F1.8 to go with them.
First Three rows from the left are MInolta MD glass,
Then two Rows of Takumars
Then some Sony and Canon Modern stuff. |

Had a hard time determining value of this lens. The seller and I settled at 330.00 US dollars including 2 dayt shipping. I think I may have over paid. But I wanted this to round out my Takumar collection at the longer end. Seller claims the Lens is very near mint.
I know its dumb to ask after I bought it...but did I do ok? |

Sure why not. But until the information is passed from photographer to photographer magically, people will continue to discover it for themselves. Hence forums, hence hands on testing and personal verification if online reading.

I shot 5 different fast 50's both wide open and stopped down to F5.6. Used Manual settings except for Auto ISO. I locked the shutter speed at 1/320th. I applied the same exact post process to all images in Adobe Camera raw. I used a Sony A7r as the test platform. Asahi Super Takumar F1.4 and F5.6
Canon 50L F1.2 and F5.6
Minolta MD Rokkor F1.2 and F5.6
Minolta MD Rokkor F1.4 and F5.6

Nope pretty sure I can generate stupid questions. A fact made abundantly clear to me shortly after I learned to speak.

Well grabbed some of my first pentax gear to shoot on my Sony E-mount cameras.
ASAHI Pentax Super Tak 55 F1.8
ASAHI Pentax Super Tak 135 F3.5
ASAHI Pentax Super Tak 200 F4
Anybody here shoot this glass? What do you consider the strengths of this glass to be?
Really looking forward to comparing these head to head against my Minolta MD glass of the same focal length and Fstop.

Yes yes.... This is what lured me over here. I wonder if there is a good way to dabble in a few pentax primes that would adapt well to my Sonys until I am ready to make a larger jump?

LOL.... Just looking for small sharp gear with a mature lens and peripheral eco-system. Feel like I may have erred going after the Sony stuff.

Hello Gents, First post here. Ever since I bought my A7R and then the A6000 Sonys I have not touched my DSLRs. I am very interested in adopting a new eco system with a more mature Lens selection. Currently Fuji and Pentax are both under consideration. Anyway here is a recent shot and a 100 percent crop with the Sony A6000 and Zeiss MF glass. Just my way of saying hello. |
