No, I don't. I know what some people say about protecting your lens and so. But if you take well care of your equipment you won't need filters for that purpose. And IMHO, anything you put in front of your lens will diminish the quality of your picture, no matter how good your filter is.

An old 15th century coin? No way. Just a 5 euro cent coin seen through a Chinon 28mm f2.8. The outer lens broke long time ago so I bought an adaptor ring and placed it reversed on my Pentax K5. Result: interesting macro 2:1 photos like this. I hope you like it!

I took these 2:1 macros with my old Chinon 28mm f2.8 inverted. A cheap way to get a macro lens before I could buy my Tamron 90mm.

It has been said that "eyes are the window to the soul" and I also think they are the soul of a portrait. This is my easy technique for retouching eyes in Lightroom: use the mask tool to select the inside area of the eyes. Set the highlights to 11, shadows to 11 and clarity to 8. Yes, so simple, but so effective. Of course you can choose your own parameters, but in my opinion retouching shouldn´t be too noticeable. I hope this tip helps you improve your portrait photography.

Long time ago the outer lens of my Chinon 28 mm f2.8 M- 42 mount had an accident and ended up completely broken. One day I had the idea to removed the broken parts and attach the Chinon up side down with the help of a very affordable adaptor ring to my Pentax K5. The results are these macro photos with a magnification ratio of 2:1 (2,11:1 exactly). I know, it´s homemade macro. But I love it!! And all for 9€ (about 11 US $).
The challenge is: show us your low cost equipment and its results. Let us know your secrets about hot to live on a budget and still create great pictures.

Lightpainting. Have you tried? It´s a funny way to make (not only take) a photograph. There are different techniques to do it, some really easy, some a bit complicated. Please share your photos, comments or tips to create this kind of pictures.

Why would I like to receive this DA 50mm f1.8 lens? I love portraits and so I´d love to enjoy the shallow depth of field this lens is able to reach. I´ve also read about it´s great bokeh, it´s sharpness and it´s good color rendition.
I own a Pentax 18-55 kit lens, a Sigma 70-300 and a Tamron 28-75. My only fixed focal lens is a Samyang 8mm (which is pretty good for landscapes, for taking pictures inside of great buildings and that I even use for some spectacular portraits, as the one you can see in the picture I´m uploading with this note).
I promise I´ll make a good use of this Pentax 50 mm little jewel.
