Thanks, I've since read that on the KP spec sheet. I'm probably not likely to go buy a AU$300 accessory just for that purpose. Might be merging in a GPX file from my phone if I really want location details when out birding.

Yep, the K-5 and K-10d... I know, no GPS. I guess GPS could go the same way as the pop up flash (which I rarely used) and now be omitted. :(
K-5 Playback view specs make no mention of 'GPS information (latitude, longitude, altitude, Coordinated Universal Time) , Orientation'. I still have my fingers crossed that it's actually in the K-3iii.
Edit: Hmmm, the KP mentions the Playback view options too, but no GPS. Oh well, it'll be a shame to not have it in the K-3iii but there are other things way more important to me than some location co-ordinates embedded in my image file. I'll just have to do it a different way if I really want it.

Are we sure that it doesn't have a GPS? I know I've read the same sort of thing on other posts but I would have thought that an unusual omission from a flagship Pentax unit. The 'Playback view' section of the specs mentions 'GPS information (latitude, longitude, altitude, Coordinated Universal Time) , Orientation' so I just assumed it still had one built in but I guess that could come from an O-GPS1 module. That would be a shame for me as I always have GPS on with both my K-3ii and K-1 as I like to tag where I've photographed birds.

Same for me..... nice.... but not what I'm wanting to find out about the camera. In the meantime I'll just keep putting away a few $ waiting for release day. I'm expecting that while AF will be better that it still won't be industry leading but better is still good :) ---------- Post added 29-11-20 at 08:42 AM ----------
LOL... yep I get it and this drip feed of the design features is still better than we've typically had in the past. It feels like an eternity since the initial 'development' announcement. Can do nothing else but wait and be grateful that we are at least being told something every 3 or 4 weeks.

I'm a bit the same. After reading "Story 6" I just felt... hasn't every flagship had a magnesium body and a reshaped prism area. K-3iii is no different to any other in this regard. I know I'm getting a bit cynical over these announcements when all I want is some meaty information and the camera to be released. I want to know how much better IQ is, the capabilities of the AF system.... things that are important to me in making a purchase decision. The shape of the prism is not going to affect that.

I'm eagerly waiting the official release of the K-3iii and to read some reviews. Higher frame rate, better AF, better tracking, better high ISO performance are all things important to me as enjoy photographing birds. I also photograph canine events fairly regularly and it's pretty much the same features that are useful with birds are also useful with the dogs. Price will come in to it though so it'll be interesting to see where it sits in my local market. Atm I'm certainly leaning towards purchasing one..... but then swapping out my Sigma 50-500 for the Pentax 150-450 is pretty enticing too. :)

Well you learn something new every day.... I could have done with that on my last milky way shoot when trying to do 2 minute exposures on my K-1. I don't do them very often so didn't even consider that it now had a timer. :)

That's what most people seem to be saying. I'm hoping AF is a bit quicker. I really struggle with the Sigma lens on both my K-3ii and K-1 for BIF... just hunts a lot. For perched birds it's not too bad if I use spot AF which is more reliable/accurate than single point SEL. I want the weather sealing too so that I don't need to worry about a bit of rain on the lens. I'll get it eventually but just waiting to see how good the K-3iii is before I decide which is my priority.

Saw the email come in and was very tempted by the 150-450 but I think I need to just hang on to my $ until K-3iii is released...... and then decide which I want more. Eventually though I'll probably have both, just the bank balance won't like the purchases too close together. :)
