Just smashing, and conclusively dispelling any black Friday remorse I might be having about the D-FA* 50 - thanks!
A few from me, handheld (lazy) D-FA 24-70 this time.

Great capture, fun expressions on each :D
Glad to see some FA*24 and FA31 shots going head to head. I've been meaning to actually create a post looking for samples between those two lenses. Out of the two which do you prefer?
Oh... and this year sees my first (hopefully of many) calendars of my own (currently just for friends and family); |

Very true. And like in fishing, in photography you need luck. And the more time you spend at it the more luck you have! Strange thing, that ;)
It is. Blue and orange, the classic complementary combination. You inspired me to add a bit of split toning to this one.

Wonderful images! Sad to see you go. In some ways I am in a similar boat. My beloved 85mm has broken and I have been given a Sony A7III so I will most likely be doing most of my new stuff on that system (amazing AF, burst rate, and eye AF that can't be beat). I have a ton of unedited K-1 shots that I will be working through so I will still be posting fairly regularly for the time being. I will also most likely be picking up a Fujifilm X-T3 in the near future.
Agreed! We have plans to shoot again around Thanksgiving.

I will follow with a few other hibiscus flower pictures, taken with very different lenses.
I want to find out to which extent the rendering of each lens (and the diaphragm used) affects the way the same subject is portrayed.
In this case quite dramatically. The Porst/Cosina f/1.2 55mm used wide open gives a dreamy look that you might or might not like, but for sure is quite different from what you get with a kit zoom! :) K_1_5792 by spaulein, on Flickr K_1_5794 by spaulein, on Flickr

What great shots, goodness me those Labradors are beautiful!
I really must use this lens more. Blackpool tonight, the last Saturday of the 2018 illuminations, at f2.8.

For the last nearly 30 years I worked at the University as an AV and later IT/AV manager.
So I still use 1x Mac PowerBook titanium + 3x MacBook Pro's at home, 1x Macbook Pro and Macbook Air at work,
Plus a number of various Dell notebooks.
Well, I can perhaps be classified as a nerd or even as an old fart.
My place is an IT/AV Eldorado, ( separated a couple years ago, just having a break, still friends _ so finally can do what I really want!).
I have tried to sleep with Pentax cameras and a number of various lense, no I am not ready for this yet, none of the tripods did any better.
My cat is much more enjoyable choice although that might change with the time.......
Enjoy your Pentax gear while you can!

I love my K1. The AF is great and it is not too heavy. If you think Sony would be better, then jump ship. We'll welcome you back in a year or two.
