No, there is not so much empty space in 645D behind the sensor. I don`t know about 645d II, but taking into account that 645DII has articulated screen, there is less space behind the sensor than in 645D. |

I really hope there will be FF Pentax with new mount - mirrorless FF, something like Fuji X-Pro1, initially with 3 lenses, for example, and K mount adapter. Like Fuji X started. And one can use all K mount FF lenses with adapter. And Pentax (more precisely - Ricoh) can make for such camera not only K mount adapter, but adapters for Leica, Canon, Nikon and other mounts. This niche is absolutely empty - there is only Leica and rumored Sony Nex FF.
Like it or not, but Single Lens Reflex (SLR) cameras with mirror will be history in more or less close future, may be there will be some small market with special needs thet will use FF in future, like it is now with medium format, but this market will not be mainstreem. Ricoh/Pentax if they want to live, must look into the future and slowly abandon DSLR-s.

May be effect of 12bit RAW (K-01 & K-30) vs 14bit RAW (K-5). I guess, this has impact on dynamic range, too.

Thank You very much. That's very good, that camera has Af micro adjustment. This is substantial feature.

Hi all!
I can't find in any website and in any thread here - does k30 have this function - AF micro adjustment. I think this function is a must.

Negative marketing value? I can bet that more than 90% of Pentax users even don't know how Pentax AF system is called.
Name SAFOX has negative value mey be in eyes of some persons who sit in forums 24h/day and 7days/week, not for normal people.

I guess they meant that on D800E because of more clearly visible details there is more visible effect of diffraction, too.
Quote from todays article on Luminous landscape Nikon-D800-or-D800e :
"Use the optimum aperture. Apertures below about f/11 introduce diffraction and effectively act as an unintentional AA filter"

120/2.8 macro lens on last Pentax Ricoh 645 lens roadmap is mistake. There must be 120mm macro lens with aperture F4 instead of F2.8. There is no such lens as 120/2.8 macro for 645 system. |

The choice of RAW converter makes very big difference, even if you just convert files by using defaults, i.e., you do not touch any of sliders. Try the same RAW file (of any camera) to convert with different converters putting all sliders to 0 or start position, and you will see the difference :)

As Linus suggested, You need recalibration. You can read little bit on this LL forum topic about "sensor split" - Yosemite Set (645D) starting with post of "mtomalty"

:) Focal length will be the same (300mm), but field of view will be approximately equal to the field of view of 235mm focal length lens on Nikon FX format (This is not correct answer :)).
Edit: I was in rush and wrote not correct answer :) On 645 field of view will be as with 235mm lens on Nikon FF, but on your Nikon FF camera this 300mm lens will be with the same field of view as your Nikon 300mm lens, because this is 300mm lens. 300mm is actual focal length and it doesn't change regarding on what camera you put this lens.

Fully agree.
I have K-7 and I don't have any problems within more than half a year of use (more than 10 000 shots)

I think You are very wrong. The same was said about cinemas, when home video was introduced, the same was said about paintings when photography became popular, and there is many similar situations in history, but Cinemas, paintings and other things are still here.
Of course, there will be electronical books and magazines were instead of pictures will be videos, BUT... not only videos, there will be stills, too. And there allways will be stills for interior designs (not always as framed pictures, there is many ways to use still photos in interior designs), and there allways will be printed books/magazines, and even maybe these ptinted media will be more stylish and expensive than electronical books.
I agree that video on consumer level (for facebook, youtube, family use) will more or less replace photography, but there will be always niches for photography.

Hi! Here in Pentaxforums is subforum for medium format cameras - Pentax Medium Format: 645, 6x7, 645D - PentaxForums.com
I think in threads of last few weeks you can get all the answers from existing owners of 645D - about AF, MF, usefulness of existing 645 and 67 lenses, how to tether and many others. These all questions are discussed there.

K-5 replacement definitely will be in year 2012, but next K-m/x/r generation may be next year(September) because these models were introduced with 1 year interval:
Km - September 2008
Kx - September 2009
Kr - September 2010
Of course, there must be DA* or WR 24-30mm prime next year.
And i hope there will be real niche EVIL next year - something like weather seald FF Fuji Finepix X100 with interchangable lenses, initially with 3 primes- approx. 24mm (wide angle), approx. 43mm (normal) and approx. 77mm (short tele), and adapter for k-mount lenses (wishful thinking) :)
