Thank you so much quys! I will shoot on f4 anyway coz I think that blurred background is thing that make good sport shot. I also used continuous focusing and automatic choosing focus points (could be this the problem?).
K20D cant motor-drive if I am not mistaken, but I could try the burst mode.
The monopod - Is this even usefull with 1/1000-1/4000? True is that the camera body (+grip) with the lens weights about 2.5kg so hand holding (90 minutes+) can be harder than it looks.
Stand up? I thought that shoot while sitting or being on knees is better for sport shooting - but true is that it can also help focus speed.

Anyway, there is some photoes (the second one is taken with 1/500, others 1/2000-1/4000)
I think the problem is focus speed..how I can maximize auto focus speed?

Hello
What is best soccer spot if I have one camera body with 100-300mm (x1.5 crop factor = 150-450mm)
And also - should be my optical stabilizer turned off (when is shutter speed 1/500+)?
(K20D + Sigma 100-300mm f/4 APO EX)

So is possible get good football photo with APS-C + 100-300 f/4 or I should go for 70-200 f/2.8?

Hello
Is even possible shoot football with f/4 if I have "only" K20D (1.5 crop factor). I mean, the aperture would be 6 and that is just too much DOF isnt it? Have I buy 2.8 (which would be 4.2)? I would love football sample photos with aperture 4 with 1.5 crop factor.
Can I shoot football effectively with Sigma 70-200 2.8 (ofc I mean with the crop factor).. I read about focusing problems but maybe only because of "bad piece".
