Yes, I took a photo in Raw+ and did as you said, and got the results you mention.
Thanks.
So, it seems that I have to realize while out shooting that my LCD will show a more saturated and more red version of my photo because the raw file is really the more correct color but while out shooting I cannot check to see what I actually have unless I carry my laptop with me (HA HA).

I just took a photo, then changed those LCD Display Settings, and took another photo. However they actually seem to be the same color. I am really struggling with this. Shelly

I do not know what you mean by switching profiles at the bottom of the control panel. On my camera? I have the K3 and the K3ii. Where can I find those settings?

Particularly when taking photos indoors, the LCD thumbnail is very different from the raw file brought into Lightroom. Actually as it is brought in the photo looks like the LCD and then changes. How can I get my LCD to be more like the raw photo - which has the natural coloring? How can I know when taking my photo (when I look at the LCD) that I have the color tones I want without having to wait until I get into Lightroom? (I have just exported the raw file into a jpeg for visibility here). See attachments

The lighting in this photo is what has attracted me to it. Great job. Shelly

zoom versus prime

Hi, my newest lens is the DA70 prime lens. I love it and the photos it produces. However, when I am using the prime DA70 I find myself wanting to zoom in or out. I realize that the zooming is done with my feet. I think it is just that I have been so used to using a zoom lens that I am not as comfortable with the prime. Any suggestions of how to get more comfortable with this prime lens? Shelly

Thank you all for the great responses. I think I misrepresented my intentions in my original post. I love macro but want to branch out to other things. And I do have the DA35 Macro lens. At present it is my favorite. I will attach a few recent photos. And I understand how the DA70 will not focus closeup. I have tried it and see the difference clearly. When I first joined the Nashville Photography club I took a 14 week course given by one of the members. I learned a lot - the basics and more. Now I am trying to put all that into practice. I also spend much time at my computer in Lightroom and other programs doing post processing. I love that.
Again, I thank you all for the ideas about my DA70 and will work on perfecting my skills with it. I think I will just go out with that lens and no other lens. I only have one camera body! (Poor me.)

Hello,
I am new to this forum and a relatively new photographer. I particularly love macro, but recently bought the Pentax DA70 lens. I know it is great for portrait photography but I seldom have the opportunity to do portrait photographs. Please help me to learn the best use of this lens with suggestions and ideas. Thanks so much.
