Yeah I have heard a car is safe, I assume the rubber tyres would prevent a strike to earth out! I might have to wear thick rubber boots next time! Thanks:)

A few days ago we copped a pretty severe electrical storm here in Port Macquarie. I went down to the hastings river to watch this fast moving front pass above. I watched a wall of wind push up the river towards me which created 1-2 ft waves. My Tripod is a heavy medium format carrying set of legs with a bit of weight to stabilize the bulk of the Pentax 645Z. The wind lifted my camera set up on to two legs as the first gusts hit. I literally shot about 7 images before a giant lightning bolt flew down incredibly close to me. My ears rang and I got an instant headache from the sound of this strike. The first time I have felt seriously uncomfortable whilst shooting a storm. I threw my gear in the van and got out of there. It was a very unnerving experience but a totally beautiful and surreal one at that.

Matt, I just posted a portrait style image in the "post your medium format pictures" thread with the 645Z + 67 105mm 2.4. Its cheap enough and renders beautifully. Focus can be tricky, and the lens does get some noticable CA. Overall I'm glad I added it to my kit. I think the FA75 would be a good option too, AF helps alot :-)

Yes, it is indeed a niche market. Competition in terms of pushing development amongst manufacturers.. its how things progress. :)

Another camera yes. An important point to make however is also how a camera feels in hand. I absolutely love how my fuji X100T handles and feels. If fujifilm can bring those ergonomics over to this new MF system, I think that can only be a good thing. Also from an enthusiast's point of view, it's not just about the clients it's about the experience and feel you have when using the tool making your art. More competition in the camera market in my eye's is a good thing.

Very exciting news. I shoot P645Z and fuji X.. and I always say I wish this fuji had a MF sensor in it! The camera looks very nice indeed. Wide lens, and a fast prime.. How it should be done.

Thank you, several coloring methods were used. Basically it was all adjusted in ACR then I used my custom LUT for toning. And a bit of a texture applied to put some soul into it. That's the quick version :-)
