Lovely model and composition, but the processing gives a strange unsharp appearance? shame

A good review and some interesting things being brought out in the comments.
Picked up my K30 body from Ryda in Sydney yesterday for $750 cash price, which is currently better than B&H's.
So now I have my K20D bought in 2008
K-01 bought from Ryda in May and now
the K30.
The decision to buy the K30 was based on the features and IQ of the K-01, but lack of ELF was proving too frustrating in my case.
Will do a comparative test of all 3 cameras with same lens Tamron 18~250 on the weekend. After that, plan is to keep the K30 only.

I bought the K-01 to update my 4 yr K20D, but still have it, and am constantly amazed at it's IQ.
The form factors are completely different, and I have to say that the K-01 is not for everyone.
Used with the 18~250, it is tricky using it hand held, but fine on tripod.
Here is an example from the weekend, the intervelometer was really nice to have on hand to
capture some timelapse video sequences.

Thanks Guys, it was amazing being there, hearing the birds, seeing flocks of Cockatoos flying over the mist!
Have it on video, going to cut a clip to music, need to go back and shoot more.

Hello, I love the lighting and the atmospheric captures, good eye.
This might sound strange, but there is too much green, in the shadows that is.
I hope you don't mind, I have adjusted a few examples and hope you agree that by getting rid of the green cast,
three is actually more color contrast, and the other primaries start to look cleaner.
Using PS, the LEVELS command and set neutral gray point by clicking around any perceived gray areas with the
eye dropper tool. In other software, reducing the midpoint level in the Green Channel will do it and then restore levels
in the RGB channel afterwards.

Great move by Pentax/Ricoh, my K-01 is up for sale after 3 weeks.
The K30 will be a pleasure to use in the traditional form factor with the K-01 IQ.

To answer your question (Tonto?)
I find the focus a right pain in the A.... especially for candids of people such as you said you like to shoot.
I also find holding it at arms length is a lot harder with slow shutter speeds, especially big lenses, the LCD
is hard to see in bright light, needs at least a swivel screen.
I'm selling it after 3 weeks, as much as I love the IQ and feature set, the design lets it down IMHO, nuff said.
Peace
