Great recommendation, exactly what I was looking for.
Very excited for the new camera! Seems like a cost effective way of getting the shots I want.

Thanks Pinholecam.
I've actually been through all of your threads. I just sailed from Singapore and have spent a fair bit of time there, though I live in Canada. I recognized a number of areas in your shots.
Years ago I bought a Samsung that was the exact same as the Pentax K10D. $1000. Beautiful camera. Never used it! It was just too big so I'd never travel with it!
I've wanted a 4/3's style for a while now but the price always kept me out. The Q really speaks to me with its even smaller size.
I went for the Q10 because at the end of the day "you aren't buying a camera, you are buying a lens system". Getting the 02 & the 06 right off the hop is a good start I think and I'll be going for some of the cheaper toys soon enough. Once the next gen model comes out and the Q7's are on clearance I'll change up the body. But for now I think I'll be happy with the 10.
Any recommendations on a good lens size for one of these supertelephoto rigs?

Just pulled the trigger on the Q10 in Red with 2 lenses! $400 for the works.
I figure I can add some of the other lenses and get to know this one, then I'll get the Q7 body when they start clearing those out. I'm a Previous Generation guy.

Wow, great feedback!
Thing about the Q10 is that they are on clearance at Target right now for $200, or locally with both lenses for $400.
I have no issues being a generation behind.
The other camera I'm considering in the PM-2 as it can be had now for $400 with 2 lenses as well. The reviews I've read say the sensor is better but the user experience is worse.
Ive noticed the passion from the Pentax users as well. Seems like it's a joy to use plus the toy lenses aren't too spendy, whereas the M4/3 lenses are pricey.

Hi Gang,
I've wanted a small changeable lens camera for years but was always priced out with the 4/3's. I'm no pro, just an enthusiastic amateur. My birthday is coming up so I thought I'd take another look and I discovered the Q series. Perfect!
I can buy a NIB used Q10 locally for $200. The Q7 from the store is $450 (Canadian). I'm leaning towards the Q10 then adding an additional lens but I wanted to see what the pro's here think.
And if somebody knows where to get a Q7 cheaper I'm all ears!

Hi Gang,
I'm a professional sailor and do a lot of traveling. Been working with P&S cameras for the last number of years but always wanted a small changeable lens camera.
Just discovered the Q series and am getting one for my Bday next month!
