Jealous of your 85mm. Do you have a 135mm f2.5 or only the 3.5?

YES I do. I really enjoy using them with my Spotmatic and Spotmatic F, The Spotmatic was my first but im enjoying the Spotmatic F more, i seem to get better results (but please dont tell the Spotmatic i said that, i don't want to upset it)
AND i lately ive been using them a lot more since i swapped a Canon FTB QL for 4 rolls of film. But no lens... so i got a M42 mount attachment... THEN i got my hands on a Canon F1 new. So now i get to use all the Takumar m42's on the Canon F1 new, and the Takumar K mounts on the Pentax LX. BEST OF BOTH WORLDS!!! YAY!

I submit for your viewing pleasure... a display lens from a Camera store (from about the 70s i think). Lovely piece of glass to show the effect to a potential customer of the effect of the Super Multi Coat. I think its a cute little novelty to have with my many lenses. Its stored in this little vinyl case with blue velvet lining for it to sit in. |

Here ya go, good Sir. ---------- Post added 09-23-16 at 03:02 PM ----------
Zoomed and cropped to give you a better view of exactly what each one of them is. I think i have a new more since ive taken these pics. I should reshoot them all again. I do not have the 85mm Portrait Lens or the 16mm fisheye. Rather than get the 85mm Lens i spent that money on buying a Pentax 6x7 with handle and Takumar 90mm f2.8 LS Lens. |

Both lenses are clear and shoot very well. I actually have 3 of the Retina 1a, Two of which are in imperial measurements and one in metric. So i am going to sell one of the spare ones in imperial measurements. DSC06818xx
BUT... but now that you mentioned the Vero and Pronto lenses on the Retinette... I went back and had a look. I think now ill keep both as one i was keeping is the Pronto. So i actually have 1 of each, both very nice examples.
IS that greedy of me now to want to keep both? DSC06905x DSC06884x |

I totally agree with you. Here are some shots i took of both a Retina 1a and Retinette 1A that are surplus to me and im going to be selling soon. No idea what to ask for each of them yet...i LOVE the embosting in the leather on the back of the Retina 1a, and its just SO COMPACT when closed up. xDSC08346 by Paul Schmerl, on Flickr xDSC08349 by Paul Schmerl, on Flickr xDSC08362 by Paul Schmerl, on Flickr xDSC08366 by Paul Schmerl, on Flickr

I use a rather sophisticated exposure system called " complete utter guess work based on a sunny 16 rule" cos i dont have a hand held light meter. i really should buy one someday.
I like the 6x7 as i more like the mechanical cannonball as opposed to the electronic canonballs. I just like that its an enormous Spotmatic.

The Carena SFL2 is the exact same camera as the Petri FT EE
The Carena uses the Petri breech-lock lens mount. Petri used this through most of their production, changing toward the end to the M42 mount to take advantage of the availability of third-party lenses in M42 (I don't know if you'll find any third party lenses in the Petmount). The original Petri breech-lock is a good, wear-proof mount, similar to the Praktina design.

SO last week i bought a Carena SFL2 from my local 2nd hand store for $18... Winding arm jammed out and shutter wouldn't fire. In about an hour i got it fixed and working after taking the top and bottom off. Went back and bought the 135mm lens for it they had there for an extra $10. Then gave the terminals in my Nikon F301 a clean and now its working all good too.
While i was asleep, lightning struck the tree outside my window. It shredded off a inch thick pieces of timber all about the size of a mans arm and threw them upto 15 meters away. Tree sap splattered the side of the garden shed. And when it happened i could see this most amazing bright orange flash of light. Here are the results.

That's the Retina 1a.
Don't get it confused with the Retinette 1a or 1b ( Those are the Left and the middle Camera in the photo of the 3.) The one on the right is the Retina Reflex (SLR type)

Yeah i agree with the others too. Its just a classy camera all over.
Because the lens folds into it i don't use a carry case and its so small it fits into the palm of your hand. Fits in your pocket easily.
Compact and very classy is exactly how i would describe it. (Just found this photo on the net to show you what i mean and its size.)
I have 3 of them. The one in the Photo is one i have done some test shots through, and i sill have to do the other 2. When ive worked out which one i want to keep, I will be selling the other 2.
If anyone is interested they can send me a message (Located in Australia if that helps.)
