Really beautiful! And great job doing something unique! It's not easy to make a picture of a yellow rose look different from the tons of pictures already out there!

Have we seen any more info (after the release of K-3 III) as to when they may release the new 16-50?

I have been thinking about switching to alternatives many times and will maybe look into it more in the future (knew about Darktable, will look into ON1 too) if the subscription based model annoys me too much.
Sound like a great workflow! Interesting option with Adobe Stock....wonder if my pictures are good enough. Only one way to find out... :)
That was my conclusion too after yours and others replies here.
I went with the Photography plan!
I have done all my work on a desktop Windows computer with Lightroom 4.4 so far.
Have a good desktop computer and a brand new Ipad Pro now so it looks like I have many options ahead of me :)
Thanks a lot to everyone that replied (both the quoted ones and the ones I didn't quote)! Haven't used the forum much lately (mostly due to normal life taking too much time from my photography) but it's so nice to come back and notice that the friendly and helpful attitude is still here!

Good point, Steve. At home I have a speed of 12Mbit/s but one advantage of synching to the cloud is to do it when away from home and who knows what celular speed will be in the spot I'm at, let alone most guest Wifi networks are painfully slow (at least for upload).

Hi,
Has anyone been in the situation of choosing between the two cheapest Adobe plans to primarily get Lightroom?
What did you choose and why?
With Lightroom 1TB I get a lot of cloud storage. Haven't needed that before but I can see the advantage beeing able to synch and sometimes do some editing on another device.
With Photography 20 GB I get Photoshop. Am currently starting an old version of Photoshop Elements about once a year so I can't say that I *need* that either but it would be fun to finally try to get good at it.
So, what I need is Lightroom. The 1TB might make my workflow a litte more flexible. Photoshop sounds so much fun but will I really have the time to use it?
I'm leaning slightly towards starting with Photography 20GB and see how that works out and then switch if I notice I never have the time for Photoshop.
Any personal story or advice is appreciated.

Thanks for your input. That was really helpful. Paper it is! At least that's where I'll start. Interesting comment about the gels. I'll definitely try that some time in the future.
Good remarks. I'll keep in mind to try to keep trying in the rest of the home. I'm quite new to flash photography so there might be a few more spots in the house that are usable than I used to think of when not having a flash.
A foldable one seems interesting. I'll look into that as well.
Yeah, I realise that more an more. I'll go with the less wide option as a start. As you say....it'll be cheap so I can try both gray and white and see what I like the best.
Interesting, I'll look into that. Christmas is coming up so why not :-)
I'll start with paper I think but I will definitely mount the paper rolls to the ceiling in a way that I can hang almost anything with a few clamps.
Thanks a lot everyone. I'm very greatful for your comments. This was really helpful. Now I have motivation enough to clean out that room from all the junk that is currently there :-)

I have a problem that almost any picture I take in our house has some annoying item in the background.
I have a space that I could use as a small studio and am thinking of getting some kind of backdrop to start experimenting with flash photography and portraits.
My first thought was to get two or three paper backgrounds on rolls and then have mounts screwed to the ceiling.
I am thinking about the wider kind (107 inches/2.7 meters)...though THAT wide might be overkill for my rather small space.
But then I was thinking about using fabric.
What are your suggestions on this? What are the pros and cons of using paper vs fabric?
And if I use only paper. How many and what colors would you start with? My first thought was to go for black and white. But maybe a third color would be fun. Is gray a good option or a waste if you have black and white? Or is black or white a waste if you have gray? I know, it all depends on what you want to achieve but I don't mind if you just write your personal opinion as I really don't know what style I will be shooting the most.

I decided to go for the K-3 without any additional DA 18-135 right now. The delivery was super quick and I already have it in my hands :-)
So far, it's all I wanted it to be! AF speed is a huge improvement for me (coming from the K10D). So far I have only tried it with my Sigma 17-70 and the DFA 100 Macro.
The Sigma focuses amazingly fast eventhough relying on screwdrive focus. During live view its slow as someone mentioned but I have not gotten used to that anyway yet.
The DFA 100 Macro also focuses fast unless it wants to hunt back and forth over the whole focus throw which is sooo long on that lens, Takes a while even on the K-3 but I expected that.
I might have to writ a separate report in another thread about my first experiences as right now it seems I have to update Lightrrom to view the pictures, then some sleep and then some serious shooting.
Thanks again for the help. I might still buy another zoom lens later this year or some other year so it was valuable to get all your views on my "problem".
Right now though, I couldn't be happier! ;-)

I totally see what you are saying and I have been lugging around all my lenses on many trips before (though, not quite as good as the ones you are mentioning). The family has increased to three kids though, which somehow has made me thinking about compromises, smaller cameras, fewer lens switches etc etc. I have some other, shorter, trips coming up before the Asia trip and all my lenses are coming along then. I'd love to have the 50-135. If I'm not too tempted by going FF in a few years, I can see myself owning it some day. ---------- Post added 06-03-2015 at 10:37 PM ----------
That was really a very similar situation. Good to hear your views on the AF. I won't be doing much video (I think) and prefer using the viewfinder (also....I think. I really don't have any option on my K10D :-)
I think if I started to play around with those lenses I might like the silence too.

Wow! Thank you all for all the wonderful input. I did enjoy the reading and even though all people have their own way of looking at things, it is still valuable to hear your views. Not sure it made the decision easier though :-)
Right now I consider ordering only the K-3 and settle with my old Sigma 17-70 for a while longer. I have a trip to Asia coming up in december and by then it would be nice to have a WR standard zoom lens with decent range (considering the damp environment). I think 16-85 sounds more appealing right now but I am not sure if it is worth all that money.
I'll still have the Sigma 17-70 probably so maybe getting a 18-135 is smarter for travel (and as a compliment at home) but those 16mm at the wind end sounds better than getting the 135 at the long end. I do have the Sigma 8-16 for the really wide shots but that won't be coming along on an Asia trip due to size/weight. On the other hand, getting a lens for just one trip is maybe a little stupid?
Oh well, guess I am back where I started :-) I do know more now, but I am still left with budget thoughts vs LBA. Postponing the lens choice for another six months sounds like the sane thing to do. But sane is not always fun...

I have put off upgrading my K10D for so long that I think it's finally time to upgrade to a K-3.
One of the things I will enjoy is having better autofocus. I have the Sigma 17-70 (the old 2,8-4,5, non-HSM version).
So my question is: How much better will AF performance be if I also upgrade the lens to the 16-85 or the 18-135 and which one of those two lenses would be the better choice considering AF-performance? Will the cost of getting a new lens pay off in terms of noticeably quicker AF or is the AF speed of my screw-drive Sigma lens also very fast on the K-3?
I could of course just order the K-3 and try it with my Sigma lens to see if its good enough but if i do decide on the 18-135, I can get it a lot cheaper if I order it bundled with the K-3. Then there is of course the usual question of which lens I would prefer in terms of all other aspects. I think I can find that answer in other threads though. Range-wise I think I would prefer the 16-85. I do consider the DA*16-50 too but am a little afraid of the old HSM-issue.
Thankful for any help during these difficult times in life ;-)

Stitched from 4 images. Changed the tone a little in Lightroom.
Any suggestions on more PP? Can't make up my mind about erasing the bright light to the left or not?
Ah...so many choices!

Forget about Hasselblad being the first camera on the moon. The truth is that it was an early pre-production model of the K10D that was used when Armstrong and Aldrin stepped onto the surface. Pixel count wasn't really high back in 1969 so the Astronauts might look a little "blocky" in this picture:

Beautiful! I too think the nose ring is a litte distractive.....but just in a few shots where it gets very dominant, like in #4. However, no 3, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12.....all beautiful! Nice work with the reflections. My absolute favorite is #3!
