Hi everyone,
thanks for checking my shot out.
I took this pic last fall on Tokyo, Japan. I was intrigued how the mirror of one of the buildings seemed to break the buzz of the city up into little fragments
It almost looks like a puzzle from my point of view...

Wow - what a surreal foreground. And a really nice colour contrast between the icy blues and the sunset colours. Nominated!

Stunning capture. I really like the reflections in the foreground and the balance in editing to not oversaturate the shot. Nominated!

I completely agree. An interaction I will remember for a long time especially with my very fragmented (non-existent) Spanish...
And thanks...

Hi all, this is my entry for this month's contest.
I called the shot "Fire in the Sky" since I thought it almost impossible to distinguish afterwards if it is an actual sunset or a forest fire.
I captured that moment at Long Beach in Tofino (Vancouver Island, Canada) and the the magic only last a couple minutes until it was over.
The longer shutter speed is meant to capture the movement of the waves in the foreground.

Hi all,
I took this shot a couple years back when I had just gotten my first DSLR and photography turned more and more into a more serious hobby.
I was traveling the western part of Cuba when this farmhand approached me on the town square of Viņales asking for a lighter. When I told him I didn't have one he asked for 20 cents to buy some matches which I happily gave him since it was such a modest wish.
In return I was allowed to take this picture which is still my favourite portrait of a stranger I ever took.
I hope you guys like it and vote me in for the finals :)
Have a great weekend everyone!

Thanks a lot. I think on b&w pics it is always a balance to not make it look too flat or to heavy. And I appreciate the honesty - this way I can learn... ---------- Post added 11-11-16 at 02:00 PM ----------

Hey all,
this is my first image I post for a contest. Not too sure how this works  but I hope I do this correctly...
I took this image in Waterton Lakes National Park in Alberta, Canada. The National Park forms the first cross boarder Peace Park of the world to gather with Glacier National Park in the States. This means park authorities of both parks are working together creating one conservation strategy. Sounds logical if the parks are sharing a common boarder but unfortunately it isn't.
Check out the pic and let me know what you think...

Hi, I rarely fix the distortion of my wide-angle lens - I normally like the look of it. On this particular one I fixed it after your comment and I actually really like it.
So thanks a lot for reminding me of the option to do that :-)

Thanks a lot for the kind comment. I personally liked the white balance like this - that is how it came out of the camera. The Lee Big Stopper always "confuses" the cameras WB if you don't manually adjust it...
I also created an HDR of 5 pics that night with a different white balance and in the end it turned out to purple...

This one for the contest was taken on a cloudy night in Vancouver, BC Canada at False Creek. The Lee Big Stopper ND10 filter gave me the possibility to extend the exposure time to 341 seconds to create the clean look of the water and capture the movement of the clouds.
