I was due for eye surgery (cornea transplant) March 7 so took a month off, now my appointment has been moved to March 21, so maybe next month. No big deal as I have one good eye and that one will be replaced a while from now.

This was shot last june. I fired it back up as it was mentioned how brite the info in the view finder is. This is true and I can see the info fine unlike the newer Pentax cameras like my KP which I cant read as too dull. Getting old and bad eyes have forced me away from Pentax to any EVF camera. I do love the size of this old camera and would use it more but DXO have no module for it.

Have a 5IIs, last time used a shutter count of nearly 3000. On board flash does not work, I have never used on board flash so no problem to me.
Just want the cost of postage from Canada to USA, which may be around $40.

Thanks for the info on the tool etc, here is one of my first today, ISO1600, QS-1 and 02 lens. I shot about 20 testers using RAW+ just incase. But all got converted fine.
My dog Molly late this evening.

There is an identical thread on DPreview but the fix is not here, so I will bring that over in case it can help someone.

Download ExifTool by Phil Harvey, rename the executable file, and you can just drag-and-drop your Pentax Q files onto it to create a copy that can be opened by PhotoLab or (presumably) PureRAW:
exiftool(-PentaxModelID=MX-1 -exif FocalLength=9).exe

While not up to LeRolls model standards my model is my best friend Molly =) QS! and 02 lens

Using exif tool and turning into MX-1 I can then use the DXO noise reduction, Here the shot is 1600 ISO then the deep prime added. Not bad I am thinking and worth more experimenting.

Missed days due to house repairs. Will be spotty from now on and may just sit a month out. New steel roof, siding, windows and hoping to put in a central heat pump.
Its called future proofing so our boy does not have to worry about too much after we are gone =)

I replaced the hood with a 55-58 and 58-62 step up ring with centre pinch 62 mm cap. Guess you could play with other sizes, I already had 62mm filters.

DSLR's and the OVF - Pentax was right all along

I went and dug out my istD and found you are correct, the numbers are bigger and easier to read, but not enough to detract if you are not looking at them. I tried my KP and the numbers are a lot smaller and dull.
Never noticed the change I guess due to fact my eyesight was better back then. I like the info in the viewer, that way if I have a flippy screen I just turn it in to face the camera and never use it. Wonder why they stopped making it readable, todays tech it should be easy to add bigger/smaller, brighter dimmer to the read out.
Thanks for pointing that out.
Had to take the istD for a spin then, this is not super looking but I cant remember how I shot them years ago =)

How is the light up info in the K3III compared to say the KP or K1? I know the OVF is better but I want to know about the shooting info, It would be nice if the brightness could be lowered or raised.

Has become my go to camera without me even thinking about it, only problem is rain and then I take my Lumix G9 and Leica 12/60
Amazing how I can go from taking a flower the size of my little finger nail to a Beaver swimming across a pond at 600MM.

When I use my Pentax KP, I cant read the info in the view finder, its just not bright enough for my eye, I can use the back screen on full brightness but whats the point of that if I am missing shots. Quite a few times I have took bad photos all day as I am missing info. Now with EVF I can see everything no problem, so in my case its put fun back into the hobby. And yes I will be selling my KP.

Canon G5X, I picked up this camera to replace my G5X mark II, the shooting speed is slooowwwwww like 1 frame per second, but I like the EVF better than the pop up version on the new camera,

Olympus Tough TG-5 question

I think you would be better off asking on the Facebook TG pages or even M43 forums in the TG sections. I own a TG6 which is the same camera more or less, I bought it for when I go into a really wet environment but not under water. The sensor is tiny and it takes a way worse photo than my Pentax QS-1. I like the macro and in camera photo stacking, The battery is the same one that goes into my GR3 so thats handy. I will include a link to my flickr shots.
The gps will eat your battery if you leave it on, but the little thing really is a rugged beast. I have a filter adapter on mine to save the front lens from scratches.
For me I would say the camera is, well to be polite, I dont like it. The buttons are tiny, the dials are small and flimsy feeling, the batter door is cheap.
