After 16 years, I pulled out my old canon AE1, and started shooting my first roll of fuji film. I recently traveled to Europe, shot 4 rolls. On my fourth roll I got to slide 36, then 37, then 38 and thought damn I'm lucky! only to realize that either the film broke off the roll, or it never engaged and I did not take one picture.
So couple questions:
1 - Where would you all recommend getting film developed now? I used to use Ritz camera years ago.
2 - Is it possible to take my camera somewhere and have them figure out what happened to my last roll of film?
Thanks!

Like I said above I have searched and found a couple threads, not many have had both lens. The reviews of the 16-50 all seem to praise other lens over it, but user reviews seem to praise it less the sdm motor failures. I am considering used on the DA*, and if I may ask what are the weaknesses in your opinion besides the motor? I appreciate the responses, I keep thinking the 20-40 being smaller will be easier to lug around, but having a better weather resistance on the DA* is worth the extra size and weight. I can't help but think that Pentax will be updating the * series soon with HD coatings, I'm surprised they haven't yet with the recent price drops. I'm leaning towards the DA* strongly, but love the look of the 20-40mm haha and the reviews are quite strong at similar focal lengths compared to the 16-50

I've read lots of reviews from all different websites, nonetheless, I'm looking to get my first higher end lens.
I'm in the military and will be on tropical islands for one reason or another, so WR is very important to me. I like shooting landscapes and for wide angle shots. I considered the HD 15mm but no WR is a no go for me, as are all the sigma options.
So my question is really what is better glass? What would you pentaxians pick and why? The DA* has a wider range and both are similar in price, and from what I understand the failing AF motor issue has been fixed. Its faster, but will the 20-40mm give me better photos overall?
Any advice is greatly appreciated, and yes I've used the search function and read lots of other threads. ---------- Post added 01-04-15 at 12:33 PM ---------- Also I have been shooting exclusively with my kit 18-55, I dont like the 50-200. I tried the 50mm 1.8 but wasnt fond of it. I love the 18-135mm, and may just go to that but really want to get a higher end piece of glass

That may be it. I use a VPN with a server in Canada, but can still ship to USA for that price.

Thank you everyone else! I travel nearly every weekend, and am stationed here with the Navy. I should try to explore the area a bit haha.

I've been reading lots of reviews on the site here, very very helpful. I have been thinking of selling the 50-200 in favor of the 55-300 wr, but maybe I should try it out.

Hey everyone, I'm Jay. First the forums have been a huge help to me, and snapsort. I spent sometime researching my first dslr, and ended up picking a k50. Found a great deal at buy dig and have had some great luck I think with the kit lens. I like the 18-55, but rarely touch the 50-200. I picked up a used old prime 50mm and 135, the 50 does well but the 135 I can never get to focus well. I'm looking at a couple other lens to get going, specifically the Pentax-A 35-105mm F3.5!
So below are a couple of my favorites from the past couple weeks I've taken. I really need to learn how to process photos better! Great Gully by jrobe121, on Flickr Second lighthouse sunrise 1Jun14 by jrobe121, on Flickr First Man in the USA to See the sun rise by jrobe121, on Flickr
