Thank you for the comment. I did a vertical also. It looks good.Unfortunately, I tend to crop all my photos at 16X9 and use them as screen savers. I think if I were to make a print I would follow your suggestion.

Nice. Even with the trees in the background the eagle shows well.

Some Lake Superior stones where the lake meets a small stream. A flash was used to bring out the color of the stones beneath the water.

I agree with your comments. I like the photo except I wish I had been standing a bit more to the right during the sunrise. It rises fast so I captured what I could. I attached two more photos cropped differently along the lines of your suggestion. The original was cropped at 16X9. I tend to crop my photos at 16X9 because I use them for my screen saver.

Too dark?
Should this be cropped differently?
Should the pelicans be higher or lower?
Comments are appreciated.

Shores of Lake Superior by Gay, Michigan. A small area running along the lakeshore contains banded sandstone that creates very picturesque patterns just beneath the surface.

Beautiful little stream in the upper Peninsula of Michigan. Experimenting with the Pentax 10-17mm fisheye lens.

Very Nice. Do you like the Sigma lens. I have the Tamron version and zoom range is very convenient. I probably shoot 80% of my photos with it.

On the Shore of Lake Superior in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The water is cold, but beautiful. This portion of the shore is covered with rocks and pebbles and, if you are lucky even, agates.

I have been shooting with Pentax cameras for years. I use to photograph with Canon cameras, but the anti-shake feature in the Pentax camera rather than the lens influenced my decision to switch. I think I am on my third Pentax which is a K-5. This forum is great. Lots of information and great photos. Hope to be a contributor.
